Antique Hollow Copper ROOSTER Weathervane on ARROW 23.5" New England Barn Fresh
Very early hollow copper weathervane with wonderful craftsman detail and natural patina as shown in the pictures. Hand-tooled and soldered. This piece was used for many decades on a local New England barn. Measures about 23 1/2" long(arrow) with 16 1/2" long rooster. Rooster stands 19" tall. Total height including rod is 52" The rooster weathervane and lightning rod balls are original early period pieces. The rod and directionals are not early. Authentic Vintage Farm/ Barn Windmill Weathervane Ready to mount on into any 1/2" hole/ pole A true vintage piece of mid-century Americana. This windmill is right off the farm and ready for use! With the bearings just replaced, it spins in the slightest breeze! The all metal construction still has the perfectly faded paint and folk art style rudder tip paint. I drilled a quick 1/2" hole in a fencepost top and tried to capture the smoothly spinning 22" blades. It would be a simple matter to install. The length of this treasure is almost 38" long and needed to be packed in a used flatscreen TV box. Although it is not particularly heavy.
