This Amber Lightening ball is very old. But i don't know for sure. It was one of several put on a 1800's farmhouse. The pictures I took, I wanted to point out the lines in the ball, the bubbles, and the original glass's gloss. If I can find 2 ball end covers, I will send them. when the glass is blown for these lightening ball glass it is to be expected that where the glass holes end, it wont be a perfect edge. Antique Amethyst Hawkeye Starburst Lightning Rod Balls Pair (2)
Up for bid is an antique pair of amethyst starburst lightning rod balls made by Hawkeye. They measure approximately 5" tall and 4 1/2" wide. Both balls are embossed with Hawkeye on them across the middle. They're in good age related condition. The collar ends show normal age related wear, with 1 ball having a chip on either end. No other damage noted. It's rare to find 2 of these in the highly sort after amethyst color. 2 ANTIQUE LIGHTNING ROD GLASS INSULATORS FOR LIGHTNING ROD COPPER CABLE
These two rare glass insulators were used to route lightning rod cables. These were originally mounted on the side of a victorian house. Both glass insulators are chipped near top side and show some paint residue. One of the insulators has 2 fairly large chips. Insulators come with original metal mounting brackets.

ANTIQUE CHESTNUT MILKGLASS LIGHTNING ROD BALL w PURPLE CAST Vintage #2
Here is an antique milkglass chestnut lightning rod ball that has a sun colored purple cast. The chemicals they used in glass back then would add a purple cast from being in the sun for so many years. This one has a slight cast. I pictured it next to an all white one for comparison but the white one is not included. This measures 4"T x 4"W. I did clean it but it has some discoloration inside the ball. One collar has very minimal chipping. The bottom collar has more chipping around the edge. I'm back to selling the remainder of the collection of lightning rod balls that I purchased several years ago. This was removed off an old barn/house many years ago. Buyer pays shipping. Beautiful Antique White Milk Glass 3 1/2" Plain Round Lightning Rod Ball
This is a beautiful antique lightning rod ball in the 3 1/2" Plain Round pattern. It is a nice heavy White Milk Glass and has superb collars. There are no chips or cracks and the ball is in exceptional condition and very shiny and bright. This ball is a great example of this style with its nice WMG color and beautiful condition. MUCH less common than its 4 1/2" bigger brother! You will definitely want to add this ball to your collection! Thanks for looking and bidding.
