It is an unusual desk with drawers opening on both sides and one door on both sides. Each side has a center drawer, a right-hand drawer, and a right-hand door. The desk was refinished in the last 10 years or so and whoever it was did a wonderful job. The desk has dainty carved cabriole legs with brass fillagree on the elbows and castors. The drawers are all dove tail with brass ribbed knobs. The doors have locks, but there is no key. The desk is in wonderful condition apart from two small cracks on the solid oak top that has nothing to do with structure and you wouldn’t want to touch it. The overall size is 52 inches wide, 28 inches deep and 30 inches high.

And beautiful fitted desk interior with deep red faux leather writing surface and large storage drawers on each side. This desk is solid oak with the secondary wood on the interior being pine. Gorgeous detailed dental block molding and beaded trim accent the top with the sides of the desk featuring picture framed molding encasing the recessed panels of oak with prominent rosettes. Antique American Standard Furniture Co Solid Red Oak Schoolmaster's Desk 59.5"W
This incredible desk by Standard Furniture Company of Herkimer. New York is in good condition and measures 59.5"W x 35.5"D x 30.25"H. This desk has went from schoolmaster's to a local steel mill's office to somebody's garage as a common work bench( Don't worry. Though, it has survived and fortunately it wasn't beaten up too bad. There are replace handles on the main drawer which locks each of the drawers when closed. These drawers must be in their specific cubby hole to work which are all signs of superior quality(you know the whole locking thing with specifically numbered drawers) I'm pretty sure I have the key for this desk somewhere. There are some scrapes to sides& gouges to the body but nothing too bad. I tried to give some detail in the pictures which I'm going to expand. This desk has ... morebeen tucked safely away in Handbanino's vaults for awhile and rather than waiting and prolonging its vacation I cleaned it off and gave as informative of a snapshot of where it's at right now. My deadline was 8 PM today and no matter what it was going on. No more scrubbing this a little more or evening out the finish out some more over there all though I will probably touch it up some more before it arrives in your home. It's not easy to get outdoor lighting. A good photogenic appearance, a decent natural backdrop to line up so I hope everything looks clear enough. The sun gave it a little bit of an alien glow but I tried to grab the most normal pictures, the top being detailed from left to right in the last three. As you can see there are some zones of"extra patina" over the wood grain but those have gone done from what it originally showed up with. We are pleased to offer this antique desk. This is a beautiful old desk dating to the early half of the 20th century. The desk is made of solid oak in the Mission. Arts& Crafts style. It is"Stickley" styled with a clean, simple design. The desk top is compromised of 2 planks which provide a generous work space. It has a single center drawer for pens, pencils, etc. Each side features two, open shelves for paper/file storage. The legs are simple and slightly supercede the height of the table top. The desk has wooden buttons which cover the screws/nails. It is in very good antique condition. There is a very slight bow on the top which is neither severe or distracting. This auction is for an antique desk/ vanity made of solid white oak. The top of the desk as well as the detail accents have an ebony finish. The desk is very sturdy. There are two side cubbyholes and a center compartment for storage. The center drawer is not a sliding drawer. Rather the center desk top lifts. The desk measures 46" in length, 20.5" in width, and 29" in height. There is 21 inches of height clearance from the floor to the bottom of the desk for a chair to slide under. For sale is a STUNNING antique solid oak desk. This is a beauty in wonderful condition. It does have one minor repair to the front right leg as pictured. And there is some very minimal peeling of the varnish on the top, barely noticeable, pictured. The top right drawer still has the original felt in it and does have a couple spots of wear as you can see in the last picture. Overall excellent antique condition and is it ever so pretty! Measures 53" across, is 20" deep, and stands 30" tall. Not to big, not to small, perfect office desk or just for show, this is one you will want to keep in the family.
