Estate-Find 1908 GUSTAV STICKLEY Mission Oak WRITING DESK No.709 with Free S/H!
Straight out of a local estate. ORIGINAL authentic 1908 Gustav Stickley writing desk no.709. Five drawers with a kneehole compartment shelf underneath. Unsigned. But it has all the correct attributes and quality that speaks for itself. My research shows that many of Stickley's pieces were unsigned, or possibly had a label which could've fallen off over the years. This is 100% guaranteed to be 100% authentic Gustav Stickley! Pegged joint construction. Flush-tenon support beams underneath. GOOD CONDITION considering the age. LOOKS GREAT from a distance. But when you get real close.you can see many, many deep scratches in the drawer fronts(mainly the left two and some in the middle) and the top(mainly near where you would sit)like maybe this piece was used in a school, vandalized by teenagers. ITS NOT AWFUL since the darkness of the ... morewood hides it pretty well. OTHERWISE. Very nice! Looks like the top possibly has a very old refinish. Or maybe just worn and faded.I believe the rest of the desk is in the original varnish. Inside the drawers has some ink stains and marker doodles.quite ugly. But its hidden.and it could be covered with material. ORIGINAL HARDWARE! Middle drawer is missing the lock mechanism. Unfortunately. OVERALL.it has quite a few issues. But I believe I have it priced accordingly.someone else is asking $2900 with replaced hardware, plus shipping.and I've seen some sold online for more! My prices are negotiable. Please don't hesitate to MAKE AN OFFER if you are interested I desperately need your 5-star DSR ratings and will do whatever it takes to earn your complete satisfaction! Should you have an issue. I'd rather return money to you than receive a bad review. FREE SHIPPING! through Plycon directly into your home!

Gustav Stickley 732 Desk Pigeon Hole Assembly
Gustav Stickley 732 desk pigeon hole assembly. Retains all the original hardware and pencil holders. Appears to be some kind of cherry wood. No topcoat of any kind. Cabinet makers mark on top in pencil. Doors open and close perfect and all the hardware works fine. This desk was always kept in a heated house and is not a barn find. This assembly would even look good anywhere in the house without the rest of the desk. Other parts of the desk are available as well. One of the lower sides had been snapped off. Just below the tenon, which is why it is being parted out. This desk was a project I was going to rebuild myself but moved and no longer had the necessary equipment to finish. The last pic is of a 732 mark in pencil by the original cabinet maker. The other is the Gustav Stickley hallmark inside a drawer. Shipping will depend on your location ... moreand where I ship from. I can ship from Michigan at an extra cost. Note: The pigeon hole assembly simply pulls out from the back or front. The damage in the pic is on the upper shelf and not on the assembly itself. I will not sell the whole desk and go through the process of having to build a special crate and driving to Michigan to ship. If you are the successfull bidder of the the other parts and want the rest of the desk. Then we can work something out. The desk is not an easy fix unless you are an medium to advanced woodworker. On Sep-24-13 at 18:19:37 PDT. Seller added the following information: NOTE: If your not a medium to advanced woodworker please do not ask about the rest of the desk. The rest of the desk needs a partial rebuild and very few people would be able to take on a project like this. I am also not interested in shipping to the U.S. as I am in Ontario. Canada. Serious woodworkers, within driving distance, are welcome to ask questions. I am a former woodworker myself and can answer any questions you have. I also have several pics of what needs to be re-built. The desk however, is solid, all original including finish and would be a great project.
Gustav Stickley Arts & Crafts 729 Drop Front Desk Five Drawer Original Finish
Estate fresh! A fantastic vintage Gustav Stickley arts and crafts 729 drop front desk. Early 20th century made around 1909. Decent original finish with hammered copper pulls and complete pigeon hole gallery insert inside with key. Two over three drawers. Thru-tenon slab sides and pegged to the front lower stretcher also pegged in the front by the top. Condition is very good but the drop needs restoration. It has numerous chips in the veneer. Some roughness on the edges and front corner on the feet and edges but typical wear from something that's over one hundred years old. The pigeon hole gallery inside has some wear and the door is cracked and needs repair. Slight separation on the left slab side but very tight. No wobbles or looseness. Measurements are approximately 36.5" wide by about 15" deep and is 45" high. Signed ... morewith the red decal compass mark inside the right drawer. A hard to find desk being offered as found, just needs a little TLC to bring it back. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer but I would be happy to assist. TSC moving is a great blanker wrap shipper that I would recommend. Free storage up to 60 days for local pick ups by you or your shipper is also offered. Good luck!

When you purchase this desk. You are buying a piece of history. The Stickley markings date this desk as being made between 1912-1916. It is made of solid oak hardwood and(on the slant top) tiger-eye oak veneer. The construction is primarily mortis and tenon and peg joinery. With the back piece nailed on with original hardware. The finish and patina are original, as is all of the other hardware. Signed, Gustav Stickley Drop Front Desk, Circa 1905-1912
Beautiful signed Gustav Stickley Drop Front Desk from 1905-1912. The desk is made of quarter sawn oak with an excellent original finish. The piece has excellent. Bulky form with 3 drawers under the drop front and many interior dividers for papers. It sits on original casters and features excellent hammered iron pulls with their original patina. The piece is sturdy and strong. It is signed with an early red decal inside one drawer and has the remnants of a paper label on the back. This is a very nice piece and would look very nice in a craftsman style home or make a very nice decorative piece. There is a moisture ring on the top and the ink stain on inside of the drop front that do not detract from the beauty but show its age, character, and use throughout the years. Some of the oak pieces are stamped with numbers, I've talked to experts ... morein the field and they tell me it was common for Gustav Stickley to number the wood pieces to simplify the construction process. I've included a picture of one of these stamped numbers. All the stampings are in inconspicuous places, such as underneath the bottom lip of the drawers. Please see the pictures for more details. Size- 45"High. 32"Wide, 15.5"Deep, Drop front, when pulled out extends and additional 14" I will gladly work with any shipper you choose at your expense. I will deliver within 3 hours of Laredo.
