Up for your consideration is this antique fall front French desk c1700's. It has a 2 drawers and behind the fall front is a leather top writing surface with 9 shelves 4 with drawers. A solid and heavy piece of furniture! This is an early 1900's fall front secretary desk with a backsplash and 3 roomy drawers. The inside of the desk has multiple compartments and 2 small drawers to store your smalls. There are 3 dovetailed drawers that open and close easily. The original knobs were replaced with white porcelain knobs. The original knobs are included. The hinges on the drop front have been re-drilled and are loose and there are 3 holes on outside of fall front in lower right corner that we have not repaired. The top has a backsplash and shelf for display. The bottom has a foot rest ledge. The inside cubby-hole wood is age appropriately worn. The outside was painted black at some point in time and is in good shape. The desk stands 46" tall. Is 16 3/4" wide and 35" long. and weighs approx. 100 lbs. Small Antique Fall Front Desk Telephone Table Writing Desk Secretoire
Here's a quaint reminder of the days before there were no cell phones. Only land lines. This is an antique fall front or drop front desk, and it's rare to see one this small. It was made by the Imperial Furniture Company in Grand Rapids, MI, probably in the 1920s- 1930s. The front pulls down to serve as a writing area. With a pen holder mounted inside. It has a removable back so you could put a land line phone in it and the cord would not get in your way, with space for a telephone book and a pad of paper. It looks like it originally had two dividers inside as well as a drawer underneath, but the drawer and one of the dividers is missing. There are a couple of scratches and scuffs here and there, but is otherwise in very good condition. Measures 48" tall x 20" wide x 13 1/2" deep. Maddox Colonial Reproduction Fall Front Desk
For your consideration is a Maddox Colonial Reproduction Fall Front Desk in poor condition and in need of repair and restoration or it could be used as parts for another restoration. One cigarette burn on top. One small drawer is not original and two small drawers are missing pulls. 2 bottom drawers and fall front have damage. Other misc damage is shown in the pictures. Although a very basic model it is a true colonial design and it does have locking mechanisms on all four front drawers. The sides are pulling apart and many of the screws are not original.
