Condition: Wood paneling on back with full boards elsewhere. P ainted black underneath in the interior foot& leg area. Hinges are original. Screws are not. Has lots of patina with cracks and markings abound and opening were original lock once lay. Dimensions: 50" Wide by 42" Tall Rear/36" tall in front by 26" deep. Has a 48" X18" canted/ hinged desk top which opens to a 48" X 25" X 5+" drawer. Has two lower shelving units which are 48" X 8 upper and 48" X 17" lower unit. Weight: Approximately 70 lbs. But would probably need double pallet for freight shipping. Hence the 150 lbs in freight weight. White Glove delivery available in the Greater New York City and Southern New England Area. It has two scrolls for paper, a fold down desk, mail/letter slots and a drawer. It measures 40 1/2" high, 19 1/2" to the bottom of the desk and 20 1/4" wide. Some of the wood is peeling in the back and it looks as the screws for the hinges for the desk have been replaces, both of these imperfections are pictured. Antique Primitive Ship Captains Desk
Up for auction is a Primitive Ship Captains Desk. Now I am not 100% sure but when I purchased it at house clean out I was told by the family that it was a Captains Desk and it had originated out of New England. I am not sure of it's age but i would say possibly late 1800's It is constructed all of wood and held together by what looks to be hand made dove tailing. It stands 41 3/4" H x 31 1/4" W x 26" D. It is a very heavy piece and actually it was photographed on a dolly because that is the only way one person can move it around. There are double doors with a metal lock hinge. Looking at the back of the cabinet it appears that a piece of wood was replaced. The top has a great patina and in photo#10 you can see a crack that runs partially across the top. Primitive Antique Writing Desk with Lift Top
Up for auction is a great old piece of workmanship in a primitive writing desk with lift top. I believe it to be late 1800's to early 1900's. Showing square nails, just a great piece. I have attempted to show all sides, top and bottom of desk with the bottom showing some shrinkage in the wood to open a crack, just adds to the appeal. Measurements are as follows: front to back 17" across 15 1/4" and a little over 11" high, a nice portable size. Any questions, please ask. ANTIQUE WICKER AND WOOD DESK OR VANITY Wonderful vintage piece in the craftsman or arts& craft style. Original patina ~ never been painted. I have seen an exact desk that was made by Heywood Wakefield that had a metal tag on the back. This one no longer has the tag. Measures 38" Wide ~ 22" Deep Height of desk top is 30" Height of desk including wicker desktop holder is about 38" Has a working wood drawer on front. As you can see in the photos it does have some damage on the front left leg near the bottom. There is broken wrap and some is missing. The back two legs are in good condition. The front right leg has minimal wear. I found only one other obvious place where there is a single strand of wrap missing. The wood desk top shows some normal age related wear. The lower wood shelf is in very nice condition. The interior ... morefinish of the drawer is worn. This is a gorgeous addition to your cabin. Primitive, stickley or cottage decor. Vintage/ Antique School Desk Made of iron and wood. Features manufacture's make embossed into the iron that features an image of the Company logo and reads American Seating Company Grand Rapids Mich. This charming piece of Americana also has a pencil holder built into the top of the desk and an area for storage in the front. Based on the history of The American Seating Company. Originally part of the Grand Rapids School Furniture Company founded in 1886, and the maker's mark, the piece can be reasonably dated. In 1906 the company became known as the American Seating Company and in 1931 its' offices moved from Chicago,IL to Grand Rapids, MI. In 1930, the company began to brand wooden desks with the“lamp of knowledge” logo which continued until 1956 when the logo was replaced.
