The exterior ... morehas been reimagined with Annie Sloan chalk paint in a custom color I call Neapolitan and the interior in a custom shade of mint. The details were gilded in a classic gold to bring out even more of its beauty and then the entire piece was slightly distressed and finished in Annie Sloan furniture wax to protect it. The creme and gold make it elegant and timeless but once its opened and the mint peeps through it feels whimsical and playful. There are gorgeous antique glass knobs on the 4 drawers that have been painted outside and in and give ample storage. Once the leaf is dropped there are slots for organization. Small drawers and desk space that make a secretary very versatile. The desk has beautiful lines, handcrafted detail and classic claw and ball feet. Antique White Rattan Wicker Cottage Chic Writing Table & Chair FABULOUS FIND!!!
This is an incredible possibly antique(1920s? but definitely an early vintage WHITE WICKER WRITING DESK AND MATCHING CHAIR! The table features two corner rounded pockets on either side of the top. Standardly used to hold writing utensils, paper notes and such. The design emotes a soft elegance- smooth rounded edges are featured throughout the table and it's dimensions are unusually proportionate, making it a truly usable desk! There are some areas of paint loss; the most obvious being on the right side of the desk table top(2 small spots- see pictures) It does have a slight wobble, which I think can be easily fixed with a very slim piece of felt underneath one of the legs. The table is in the same solid condition. Minor paint loss as well. And the two side angled beams need to be re-nailed into the seat base. I used Napoleon blue color chalk paint on the outside and charcoal gray on the inside, the knobs were rubbed with silver leaf so they stand out. I stenciled a bit on the enside for a special added touch! Lightly distressed, antiqued and waxed it completely for an amazing patina.
