Condition: Used Location: Novato, United States I am not an expert but an antique furniture appraiser looked at this piece recently and stated this is a unique desk that he's never seen one quite ... morelike it. It was likely made in the early 1900's. Made of oak. And has a spooncarved front. There are no identifying markings. It is in excellent shape and it has the original finish. Brass fittings show a bit of tarnish but should clean up easily with a little TLC. Three of the posts on the brass rail at the top are loose but can be easily secured with a little bit of attention. One of the rail ends is stripped so that will need to be secured as well. Otherwise this piece is ready for your home. I would be happy to provide more detailed photos if requested. I hate to part with such a beautiful and unique item but we no longer have the room and it just doesn't fit our decor. The dimensions are 40 1/2” tall its tallest point. 33 1/2“ wide at its widest point at the base, and 19” deep when closed,and 34“ deep when opened. Local pickup only.

This special lap desk was made of a wood with veneer over and a mother of pearl inlay. The interior writing surfice has a blue velvet fabric glued on and a black velvet ribbon acrossed the top where the hings are. There are six compartments on the inside for paper. Writing tools, and whatnots. The top lid has some cracking and veneer is missing on the side and it has damage where the hinges go(on top and bottom) See photos. The lock is present and there is no key. Locking top plate needs to be reattached. Its hinges need to be reworked. The hinges are included. But the location on the box needs to be repaired. I inherited this Beautiful Antique Secretary Hutch made by Skandia Furniture Company Rockford.IL a while back I did not get a key. I know it is really old from the early 1900's and has not been refinished there is minor scratches due to age. But over all in wonderful condition. It has Beautiful Detail on the wood the inside has one shelf. The drop down has 3 small drawers the right side arm that comes out when you pull down the drop down is missing it is the arm that should be next to the top drawer on the right see picture. I have for sale an antique Moulthrop school desk and chair. It was made in the early 1900's by Langslow Fowler. Which was a early manufacturer of Arts and Crafts furniture in Rochester. NY. They competed with Gustav Stickley. Stickly Brothers and Roycroft. It is made of oak and iron hardware. The chair has a drawer that slides open for books. There is a inkwell holder is attached to the metal brace on the side. The black metal brace has the name MOULTHROP stamped on the bottom. And it can be raised to adjust the desk height. Angle and depth(can slide forward and back) The seat height from the floor is 16.5" The desk can adjust height from 27.5" to 31.5" The desk depth can slide from 9.5" to 14.5" The size of the desk top is 12" by 16" This is a very solid well built. A gorgeous 1906 Oak Roll Top Queen or Boudoir Desk. Has been used last 30 years to enhance a room. Not as working desk. An oak swivel desk chair, circa early 1900's comes with desk. New rollers will be needed on chair, it is a beauty. The pictures don't do th desk justice. The patina is darker and beautiful. My husband moved his office to our home, and we need to sell furniture originally in that room. The desk is 40" wide x 44" high x 26" deep. Early 1900's Combination Curio Antique Peice. Side by Side. Used by some through the Depression. Well-cared for over the years. In near mint condition. Was never restored, in original condition. Bowed glass on curio may have been replaced. Not an expert. But I beleive, though not for certain, this to be of Mahogany Wood. This peice is NOT wobbly. It is sturdy. Four Legs are wood- no cracks. All solid. Overall, in very fine condition. Only flaw: missing handle on curio door. But, there is an easy fix. Hardware, drawer pulls are delicate and pretty for sure. Carvings are detailed, unique in thier own rite, and pretty. Overall the carving theme seems to be of hour glass or shell, in my opinion. Highly carved, refined. Overall, the peice is simply elegant. It is darker wood. Many of this style of antique is oak or other, but few are this ... moregrain and this color. Top shelf over desk. Mirror is beveled. All drawers pull great. Eschucheons(key holes) all in place- though I do not have the key for locking. Inside desk is neat with pull out drawer and some shelving. Hinges on desk are Secure! Fine to hold a lap top. Curio neat to store those show-off collectibles. Four shelves. The shelves can be adjusted for heigth, however, currently, the top shelf is the longest. Measurements: 5'4" tall(final height at carving over beveled mirror) 3'1" wide, and exactly one foot deep, would be 11" from wall, but bowed glass makes it exactly a foot. Nice functional peice- and, a peice of history. Somewhat petite, not obtrusive size out from wall. THIS IS FOR LOCAL PICK-UP ONLY. One of a kind. Very good condition woman's writing desk from Mexico, circa 1900. This one of a kind piece has no screws or glue, and fits like a puzzle! This desk was brought to the United States circa 1970 from Durango, Mexico by my Grandmother. She in turn received it from her piano teacher years before! Antique Desk & Chair Art Deco Ealy Century Maple 1900-1940 Desk Child & Chair
Here is a beautiful child's desk& chair set. Somewhere between 1900& 1940. This is a small version of the larger ones made then. Picture#8 shows some letters& words that I cannot seem to make out. Of what was probably the manufactor. It has the original stain, which has not even been attempted to re-finish. Some think that would ruin this set. Children have definitely used it, for the wear you see, but it is solid and sturdy, and has lots of wear left in it. There are three drawers on the right side, and the top one locks. you may be able to find a key for this, or ask a locksmith to make one. Above the top drawer that locks is a little slide-out board for writing on. There is a large center long drawer too. The chair swivels, and has cast iron framing, with an adjusting center screwing device which allows for the chair height ... moreto be as low to the floor as 14 inches, up to 16 inches, easily. At it's taller setting, the chair is 29 inches tall, from top of back to floor. The seat is 12 5/8" wide and 12 3/4" deep. This is extremely well made, and sure belongs in someone's home with a child who will enjoy and use it. The desk measure 29 inches tall, and is 33 1/2 inches wide and 18 inches deep.

Antique Secretary, cabinet, walnut furniture, desk, 1900 darling!
Gorgeous piece. I hate to let it go, but I'm moving and need to downsize! Circa 1900 secretary I believe is walnut. maker unknown. This was more of a middle class piece rather than a fine piece in it's day, so I was told by the dealer. It is solidly constructed, and stands 93" tall including pediment. it comes apart into two pieces making it easier to move. the top cabinet with glass doors is 62" tall and is rather shallow at nine inches which is nice if you don't want too bulky a piece. the bottom stands 31" and is 18 inches deep at the top, the cabinet being 15 inches deep. it is 38" wide. With desk folded down it is 23" deep. It has some insect gouges, I guess you might call them and other flaws and some wear. Pediment has been repaired. but you can hardly tell. PLEASE study photos carefully and consider ... moremeasurements and ask any questions before bidding. This is the most darling piece and looks fabulous just as it is. ANTIQUE THREE - PIECE CHINESE PEDESTAL DESK ca 1900
This desk was made in three pieces. There are two side pieces. One of which has three drawers and the other of which has a shelf behind a door. The top piece contains three drawers and a pull-out shelf on the right side. I do not know the authenticity of this desk, but it appears to date back to the early Qing dynasty era. It is coated with black lacquer and gold paint, with stone or mother of pearl onlays. It is decorated in this fashion on all four sides. The lacquer is cracked and worn away in several places. From the research I have it does appear to be an authentic original. If there is interest, I will obtain more detailed photographs of the onlays. French Carved Walnut 1900 Antique Secretary Desk. Elegant and functional. A hand carved secretary desk was hand crafted in France about 1900. Walnut with raised and matched panels, the top has been re-varnished for durability. The balance of the original finish is very well preserved and has been waxed and polished, only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its glowing patina. Opening the drop front reveals an interior in curly or"birdseye" maple with a tooled writing surface plus tiny drawers and cubicles. There is no key for the little locking drawer. The main key works as a handle. Five outer drawers have hand cut dovetail joints and original locks that operate with the dropfront key. Antique Spinet Writing Desk Early 1900's
Gorgeous details include: hide-away desk area. Extendable writing board, small drawer on top, large drawer beneath desk, and plenty of small cubbyholes. Made of either solid maple or walnut with matching veneers. Up for sale is a vey old wood and metal school desk in original condition. Untouched and with all the years of use. Memories, and charm, this desk dates from the early 1900's. This can be an"Eclipse" folding desk, but I am not sure as it is unmarked from what I see. It is not cast iron, and has some rust as shown. It is blonde oak, and the best part about it is the inkwell, which is not only very hard to find in these old desks, but shows the age, as this was used when inkwells were needed. The seat folds as shown in some of the photos, and there would be another desk like this in back of it for the user of this desk to sit in. Antique school desk frames from early 1900's
These are to the best of my knowledge iron side frames from antique school desks. I cannot verify the exact age but they are very old and very ornate and could be used for many different things. I acquired them from my Uncle's estate and would like to sell them to someone who could make use of them. You are buying exactly what is pictured and the pieces are about 26 inches each in length. Antique Moulthrop Oak School Desk Early 1900's Local Pick Up Only
Antique Moulthrop school desk. Oak. Great collector's piece. Top is adjustable. And I think the height is too, I just don't know how to do it! The drawer pull says"Langslow Fowler Co. Rochester, NY" with"Moulthrop" at the bottom with another word above it that I cannot make out. The words are worn. There is a small linear crack on the top of the desk in the writing area that you can see in the photos. I cannot ship this item so it's local pick up only, due to the weight. Original piece in good condition for how old it is! Has a beveled mirror top center and two small corner pedestal candle shelves either side. Embossed scrollwork adorns rounded top. Scrollwork embellishment on slant-top fold-up front of desk. Opens up flat supported by hinges either ... moreside. Desk organizing compartments inside includes small pull out drawer. Bookcase below offering two shelves for a home library. Glass doors open and close smoothly keeping books dust-free. A small lock on bottom shelf secures one of the doors. The other closes with little effort. As can be expected with most antiques. There are always a few issues from time and use. Items to note with this Larkin: there is gray spotting on the beveled mirror. Also, the pull knob on front of desk is loose and interior lock is missing. Left side hinge is replacement, not original, and two small dividers missing from inside compartments. Also has a very minor cosmetic corner repair located right side mid-section, see pics. Desk is of a nice weight. Made of oak, stained a toasty warm medium brown. Italian 1900 Antique Hand Crafted Oak Secretary Desk. This secretary desk was hand crafted in Italy around 1900 of solid oak. The old finish with some newer revarnishing preserves lots of antique character. Dings, wear and shrinkage separations from age. Waxed and polished, only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its warm patina. Wrought iron side handles are original. Brass hardware is old but not original. The lock on the dropfront does not work, the key is a handle only. Pull out arms support the lid. Inside are eight small drawers plus a locking compartment with inlaid banding and a star on the door. All drawers have hand cut dovetail joints on this historic European furniture. Every surface shows hand planing. Sides are single wide planks and the front has wooden pegs at the joints. There are various restorations ... moreover the years. And size is 39" wide, 19" deep, 39 1/2" tall and the desktop is 30" high. C. 1880-1910 Item# 1404NPP26P This is an exceedingly attractive early 20th Century French Louis XVI Style desk- the type is known as a"Cylinder" form for the cylindrical top that rolls into the desk to reveal the writing surface. This writing surface is covered with a mellow blue velour and pulls outward to extend the depth of the working area. Three small drawers are arranged beneath three letter-slots. The rolling top locks with great security. Large steel bolts projecting from either side into brass catches in the case. Pairs of smaller drawers rest beneath a brass gallery on either side of the desk, these flanking an original bevelled glass mirror ... morebeneath an overhanging top shelf. The entire desk is embellished handsomely with brass fluting, these accentuating and drawing heightened attention to the clean and uncomplicated lines of the form. A single large drawer is set in the apron, crafted in the same manner as the other drawers with hand cut dovetails for all parts of the framing and oak woods in all of these secondary parts. Perhaps most magnetic in the desk, though, is the truly magnificent selections of mahogany- pure and straight grained, the woods employed are true to the form: austere yet regal, vibrant in color and rich in depth. Anyone with a passion for French antiques will certainly cherish this desk- an ageless form that has been employed in classic interiors for almost 250 years. this is a pre 1900 secretaire. The original owner was a WW1 Veteran. it was his childhood secretaire/desk. That is why I know is pre 1900. His kids. Who were in their 70's, gave it to me.
