This is a wonderful early crafted piece that offers a functional desk in addition to a music cabinet and storage drawers all with grand style. We believe this desk to have its original finish as well as the original beveled mirror gallery and features beautiful inlay work on the desk front and the cabinet door. The key works the sheet music cabinet and the drawer under the desk. The locks are intact on the desk and the drawer above the music cabinet but the locks appear stuck. This fine composers desk measures 52 inches in total height to the top of the mirrored gallery at the back. Height to the front measures 44 inches,with a total width of 38 3/4 inches and total depth of 16 1/2 inches and this desk weighs approximately ... more85 lbs. The original beveled mirror measures 5 1/2 inches high by 34 3/4 inches wide. This wonderful composers desk is truly a very unique piece and is in great antique condition. The original beveled mirror does show some cloudiness and streaking as age appropriate. And the is a small repair to the carvings on the right side of the mirror, and age wood shrinkage crack on the desk front and door which is common with antique pieces and not an issue in my opinion. Antique Secretary, cabinet, walnut furniture, desk, 1900 darling!
Gorgeous piece. I hate to let it go, but I'm moving and need to downsize! Circa 1900 secretary I believe is walnut. maker unknown. This was more of a middle class piece rather than a fine piece in it's day, so I was told by the dealer. It is solidly constructed, and stands 93" tall including pediment. it comes apart into two pieces making it easier to move. the top cabinet with glass doors is 62" tall and is rather shallow at nine inches which is nice if you don't want too bulky a piece. the bottom stands 31" and is 18 inches deep at the top, the cabinet being 15 inches deep. it is 38" wide. With desk folded down it is 23" deep. It has some insect gouges, I guess you might call them and other flaws and some wear. Pediment has been repaired. but you can hardly tell. PLEASE study photos carefully and consider ... moremeasurements and ask any questions before bidding. This is the most darling piece and looks fabulous just as it is. Oak Desk from carved 1905 Esty Pump Organ cabinet
This is an old Estey pump organ built in 1905. It is in oak with lots of incised carvings. The original high back/top had been removed for a mantel top. The works were missing parts and beyond my expertise. So were removed. I tried to use all the pieces of original wood in the conversion. I made doors in the bottom(for storage) from the original panels, recessed the panel where the pump pedals were, for a knee hole. The carved panel that was in front of the keyboard is used on top as a splash back. 1 board was added to the keyboard cover, needed for extra width.The 2 stationary carved panels at top, left and right, were removed and made to slide for access to storage space. The original sheet music stand was cut down, hinges added to let it fold forward for access to more storage in which I added dividers for cubbyholes. I made cubbyholes ... morefor the interior and used an old rolltop desk top for a slide-out writing surface. I attached the back panel w/screws to make them removable. The shelves in bottom storage are removable. This could be a great computor desk. As far as I know its one of a kind. Up for purchase is this beautiful Drop Front Secretary Desk with Glass Door a three shelf book or display case on top. I am told this is Birds Eye Maple but I am not 100% sure. I am not sure how old this is but I believe it to be an Antique based on the locks on the desk and the hardware. As you can see in the pictures this displays and looks beautiful. Probably the Most Beautiful Chinese Hand-carved Desk on Ebay- If one picture is worth a thousand words. The pictures below speak volumes) We originally had it listed for $8.000 but ran across another similar one while researching the value which was priced at much more. And so we are currently awaiting a Bonham and Butterfield appraisal. But we are motivated sellers and are currently accepting offers. Rare Partner's Desk& Chair- Red Lacquer& Gold Gilt- Huge- Some History Little is known about this Chinese Hand-Carved Red Lacquer and Gold Gilt Partner's Desk. We think the wood is either Teak or Mahogany. The desk was commissioned in China(date unknown) And eventually purchased by the late Margaret Simas. The story goes that the original owner was traveling through China and discovered a similar desk while visiting a bank. So ... moretaken by its beauty and intricately detailed carvings they were later introduced to the artisan who created it. And so commissioned a similar desk. Through the process of design and construction. Carving and lacquering, and eventually shipping from China on a container ship. The process took two years. There are Gold Dragons carved throughout both the desk and chair. Each carved panel tells a portion of a story. Description The desk is huge measuring 75" Wide by 39" Deep with a height of 29" There is a glass cover atop the desk under which are beautiful carvings. The entire top can be lifted off the two beautifully carved pedestals which enables the desk to be moved easily since it breaks down into three sections. There are even cabinets in front of the desk with a pull out writing tablet. And of course on the business side the seven drawers and the one double drawer for files. This is a rare offering. The original cost is believed to have been over $8.000. We know little about the pedigree or history of this desk other than what has been stated. Therefore we welcome any further information which we can use to update this posting.

Solid Oak Clark's Spool Cabinet Desk (REDUCED)
What a clever idea someone had. Take a completely refinished spool cabinet. That usually sat on a counter, and make a base for it, and now you have a desk. The condition is excellent. It has all the original knobs and hinges but the writing surface has been replaced. I have a solid oak stool that is a perfect height to make this piece usable as a desk. AUTHENTIC ANTIQUE LARKIN SECRETARY DESK-CURIO CABINET
Up for your consideration today is this magnificent authentic antique secretary desk/curio cabinet. IT IS AN ORIGINAL LARKIN AND THE ORIGINAL PAPERWORK IS STILL ATTACHED TO THE BACK. Please check out the photos carefully. The finish is wonderful with very little wear. The beveled mirror is original. The key still works to lock the glass curio door. it does not lock the desk drop leaf or drawer) All carvings are original. The only thing that I know to be changed is the glass shelving. My husband added the shelving. Whether you use this piece to display depression glass as I do, or as a book cabinet or antiques display cabinet it is always a conversation piece. I had a collection of antique ink wells so they were displayed behind the glass and I left the drop leaf down and had a well, antique quill pens an antique tea cup and saucer on the ... moredesk. This is a wonderful piece and will add charm to any room. Three things I must point out. There is a stain inside the drawer. I think it is an ink stain. It is not visible from the outside, only the inside of the drawer. There is a small mark on the shelf that may be a burn. I have taken a photo of the key next to the mark so you can gauge the size of this flaw. Lastly I have been told that there was a small 2 inch piece of wood that extended across the top of the book shelf side of the unit I don't know what it looked like but was told by an authority that it is missing. Until I was told it never looked like anything was missing. Whatever I have displayed on that shelf always looked wonderful. The glass door is original and has no flaws. THIS PIECE WAS MADE IN AMERICA BY LARKIN and has held its value. I own it for about 25 years but must sell everything as we are moving into a vary small space. Please check out my other antiques. Up for consideration is an original vintage MID CENTURY MODERN BLONDE WOOD desk circa 1950s. Sturdy and solid as it gets. This great desk features a slight curve in the front, which gives it a nice flair. A middle drawer separates a set of three drawers on either side. The desk looks to be constructed of oak and has a beautiful, blond finish which is perfect. The back side of the desk is straight and flushes up against the wall. The metal drawer pulls have a gold wash, but do show some tarnish. They look great as is, or one could choose to repaint them. This came from an estate of an 85+ year old who had this in his garage. He was a machinist and used it for storage. We were told it was originally out of a post office. We think it dates back to the teens or 1920's-30's. It's made of pine. Is very sturdy and is in very good condition. We cleaned it up and lightly sanded it. The top section is 8.5" deep with shelves that are 8" deep. The reticulated wood/ glass doors are 14" x 26" The serpentine drawers are 13" deep. It features four Eagles Talons or claws for feet.
