It is in a dark oak stain. Look at the photos to see all the carvings. When you open the interior, it reveals a multi-cubby hole and drawer. It has pull out supports to support the lid while you pay your bills. The overall size is 31 inches high to the drop-down lid, 32 inches wide, 18.5 inches deep and 41 inches high overall. It is a great desk that comes with the original castors. Shipping starts at $295 for a driveway delivery in our normal New England delivery area. Condition: Used Location: Fairfield, United States We are pleased to be offering today what I believe to be a bench made custom solid tiger sawn oak Chippendale raised panel all the way around cabriole ... moreleg flat top desk that dates from the 1890's. The desk comes with four raised panel dove tail drawers that retain all the original hardware. The center where the legs go have a reverse cove carving, which I have never seen in oak. It has a scallop bottom trim base, raised panels all the way around and a wide bevel edge on the solid tiger sawn oak top. The only negatives I see on the desk is that there is a little wear on the edge of the top from rubbing against something and there is a split going down the center of the top. We most likely could pull the top off and repair the top, which wouldn’t make a huge difference, but it is an expensive repair. The desk itself is high end quality.

It measures 16" by 9" by 4 1/2" The exotic wood veneer(possibly ... moremahogany) has a very dramatic and variable grain that ranges from amber to black. The exquisite top features a radiant Mother of Pearl Cartouche( 2" by 1" with no engravings or markings) It has eight Mother of Pearl Discs that are positioned near the corners. The discs are connected by pewter'stringing lines' to form two rectangles on the top. I believe that the two shortest pewter'stringing lines' on the ends of the inner rectangle may be replacement pieces. There are also four Mother of Pearl discs on the front of the box. Connected by pewter'stringing lines' These also form a rectangle. The escutcheon has an inlay that is a bone color. But does not appear to be Mother of Pearl. The top opens to reveal a green velvet fabric-covered writing slope which appears to be original. There are five separate compartments for ink wells. Nibs, wax, stamps etc. There is also a removable concave pen tray with storage space beneath it. The green velvet-covered'top partition' pulls down with a black grosgrain tab to expose a storage compartment. The storage compartment measures 14 1/4" by 7 1/4" For stationary. The green velvet-covered'bottom partition' pulls open with a black grosgrain tab to expose a storage compartment. This storage compartment measures 14 1/4" by 5" For letters. The hinges and fittings are brass and there is a flush brass handle on each end of the box. There is a small chip in the veneer on the left front corner(photo#3) There is a 1/2" segment of the pewter'stringing line' that is missing in the same area. There are some cracks in the veneer on the top. The left side of the top and the front. There are cracks in the interior linings of the box. It also has beautiful scroll work on it. The desk was refinished, but the mirror is original. At one time there must have been a key, but it does not have one now. For auction is a great old antique child's folding or collapible desk in oak. One pair of legs is hinged to allow for the desk to be folded down for storage. The desk is in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks. It does have minor dings from years of hard use. I have for sale an antique Moulthrop school desk and chair. It was made in the early 1900's by Langslow Fowler. Which was a early manufacturer of Arts and Crafts furniture in Rochester. NY. They competed with Gustav Stickley. Stickly Brothers and Roycroft. It is made of oak and iron hardware. The chair has a drawer that slides open for books. There is a inkwell holder is attached to the metal brace on the side. The black metal brace has the name MOULTHROP stamped on the bottom. And it can be raised to adjust the desk height. Angle and depth(can slide forward and back) The seat height from the floor is 16.5" The desk can adjust height from 27.5" to 31.5" The desk depth can slide from 9.5" to 14.5" The size of the desk top is 12" by 16" This is a very solid well built. It is a lovely little piece measuring 39" tall. 27" across and 15" deep. It is in nice condition given it's age, but it does have a small chip out of the front right corner post. ANTIQUE MISSION OAK BEDROOM DESK This desk is of the type used in bedrooms during the turn of the century due to the small size of most rooms during the early America years. In addition to being used as a desk they were also used as secretaries. Sewing tables and also doubled as a night stand. This desk measures 47 1/2" in length in the unfolded position. 23 1/2" folded x 23" deep x 25 1/2" high. The folding legs are turned and have wooden casters, and the drawers are made with dove tail joints. This is a very sturdy desk which I have been using for the past six years as my computer desk. There are a few blemishes which can be seen in the photo's which can be best described as scratches and a few heat scorch marks which may have been from an iron. A lamp to close to the surface, or from a sewing machines motor heat ... moreall of which add to the patina of this beautiful desk. It has not been re-finished and am sure it could be if the buyer chooses to do so. I am not sure of it's origin but have seen a few similar which have been described as an item made in New England. This particular one was purchased from an antique store in Colorado over 30 years ago. A beautiful antique roll top desk in great condition for the age. This desk measures 48.25" high at the back center. It has a width of 49.5" and a depth of 31.5" The kneehole height is 27.25" to the bottom of the cross board and the width is 29" The bottom section of the desk has four small drawers on the right side with a pullout writing surface above it. The right side has two small drawers above a larger file drawer. The divider board in this drawer is broken. There is also a pullout writing surface abov this bank of drawers. Only one of the other six drawers has a divider section in it. The remaining pieces are missing. There is a locking mechanism on the bottom section. It is a little sticky. All of the drawers have decorative fan style handles made from wood. The top section has various sized cubbies and only ... moreone drawer. There are two pencil trays that hang at the center and the section above these trays pulls out to reveal hidden trays as well. The roll top on this is in great condition and slides up and down smoothly. This section also locks with the original key. There is a vintage metal pencil sharpener attached to the top right side of this. There are age and use appropriate imperfections. Scratches, dings, and dents on this that enhance the character. There is what appears to be an inkk stain on the top and there is also some stains in the drawers. There is also age darkening to the wood. you will not find a better quality high end antique secretary desk for sale anywhere. i will tell you why. this piece. Maker i do not know, quality of horner but is not likely his work, is as well constructed and remains in that condition after 120 years of service. there are no loose or wobbly screws or holes. the hardware is all original and perfect. it has all original locks that are all tight and just like the day they were installed. it has the original keys and all the locks lock and work perfectly. when the door is shut there is not crack or room between the door and frame large enough to allow a razor blade to slide into. the same way with the drawers, drop front and top drawer which is spectacular and boast a serpentine curve. this piece is as solid and tight as any i have ever owned and the correctness and tightness would lead one ... moreto believe it was made yesterday. not really, they do not make stuff in this day and time that remotely compares to antique furniture. most secretary desks, there are some gaps in the bookcase door, usually wobbly hinges, drop front loose, drawers flopping here and there. you can shut most of them up but they have issues. anyway, construction is perfect, solid, quality material, and workmanship. who ever made it was a triple A firm. on the back there is a paper label that has spaces for the no. of the item, the finish, who did the cabinet work, filling, rubbing, polishing, trimming, and packing. these areas have been penciled in, but the wording has faded beyond ascertainment. there is also a label that has willick bros, muncating? somewhere. can't make that out either. the piece also has incised inventory numbers in the boards feature only used by the highest quality furniture makers. it also has stamped inventory nos. here and there. are you bored yet? now for the piece itself. so well done. pierced carved,very very well done griffins on each corner of the top crest. great solid tight sconce in the center held up by a wonderful turned column, all fitting perfectly and as

The measurem e nts are 26" deep x 38" wi de x 29 3/4" tall. The front drops down and in side is a writing platform w ith an inkwell hole. Pencil rest, and cubbies in t he back for en v elopes. Etc. To the right is a drawer which actually comes completely out. The hinges have been replaced on this front piece as well as t he glass kno bs. There is an old keyhole and the lock seems to still be intact. However we do not have a key. My husband had his computer on this desk and be cause the underside of the des k is open. He was able to keep the keyboard on the pull-out platform, and the wires fit right throu gh. The wood is oak and is in beautiful condition ... morefor being old. Original Antique Tiger Oak Arts& Crafts Mission Oak Library Table Desk with one drawer and shelves on sides. Very nice grain pattern and color. Good used condition. I will describe condition as best as possible and have taken many pictures which show every side of item. PLEASE NOTE- white spots on desk in photos are fresh snowflakes that just started to fall. Desk is stored indoors but photos were taken while moving the desk. Measurements: Approx. 29-1/4" in height. 44" wide at widest part Table Top measures 27-3/4" x 43-7/8" 22" from floor to bottom of drawer legs are 6" wide outside edge of leg to outside edge of other leg approx. 36" shelves on sides have opening approx. 11" high x 24-1/4" wide from floor to bottom of cross pieces between legs is approx. 5-7/8" Handle pulls are original ... moreto desk and could easily be changed as one has a screw through front of knob while other is entirely wood front. There are some scratches and dings to wood as can be seen in photos. One rear leg had slight exposure to dampness at one time and has a little swelling. Which could be sanded and finished but I am leaving item in condition as acquired. Dovetailed drawer has had nails added on both sides for added strength at some point. Buyer will be responsible for making shipping arrangements. Which can include pickup in the Kalamazoo- Grand Rapids, Michigan area or I can work with you to make arrangements with a shipping company of your choosing and which buyer will pay for. This is a beautiful oak antique secretary desk with a fold down front and cubby holes with a small drawer inside and a larger drawer underneath with glass drawer pulls/handles. This is 41" tall. 29" wide and 17" deep. The oval mirror has a date of September 20, 1917 stamped on the back. LOCAL PICK UP- ONLY- NO DELIVERIES! Antique Tiger Oak Roll Top Desk. 46" wide X 45" high X 30" deep. Early 1990's Tiger Oak Roll Top Desk with large handcut dovetail joints. Back panels and S roll that works. This is a Secretary's Desk purchased from an estate of a Lawyer in Bedford. Indiana in the early 1980's. It has a slide out on the left for a Typewriter and a shelf slides out on the right just above the top drawer. Drawers are the depth of the desk. Desk is in 2 pieces- Desk top and Desk base. Has normal wear and tear for a vintage antique item that has been moved a couple of times. Has casters for rolling around but the holes on the bottom are worn.

Antique Mission Oak Library Desk I can find no markings on this except a#17 in pencil in the drawer slide and a# 17 in pencil in the drawer. I assume they did this so they would know which drawer went with which desk, and does not allude to who made the desk. I got this from my wife's uncles estate. He was 96 when he passed and he got this desk from his parents estate in Spokane Wa. when they passed. It is made from solid oak and on the ends of the top board you can see that the top is tongue and grooved. Very hard to show in the pictures. I don't know tiger oak from quarter sawn oak so you be the judge. There is some what appears to be grey paint on one corner of the top. please see pictures. Someone drove 2 finish nails about 2' long into the top of one of the legs. One leg has a chip out of it at the bottom about the size of ... morea quarter and another leg has a little grey paint at the bottom of one side. See pictures. I have made no attempt to repair. Clean or restore the finish on this desk, it is in the condition it was given me in. All in all this desk is in great vintage condition given its age. Top of desk 36 1/2" wide x 24 1/2" deep and the desk top is 29 1/2" above the floor. Will ship via Greyhound Bus to a station of your choice for you to pick up. Hand crafted of solid oak. Every piece is hand planed. The old finish has warm antique patina. Waxed and buffed, only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its luster. Charcoal marble has been polished and sealed to resist stains. Iron arms support the drop front which has a saddle leather writing surface.
