They've been in air conditioned storage since that time. These were commonly used by the medical profession. They are rare. That's for sure. The finish of the paint is still in remarkable condition, though they still need a thorough cleaning. Many of the pictures show the shiny surface of the paint, which was manufactured by DuPont. The metal surface was prepared and sprayed with a rust proofer by the Parker Rust Proof Co, with their product called Bonderite. From the"How to care for SIMMONS FURNITURE guide" SIMMONS FURNITURE protected and enhanced with Du Pont satin-finished HI-BAKE DULUX. SIMMONS Steel furniture is specially finished with Hi-Bake DULUX for outstanding beauty and durability. DULUX is an exceptionally hard finish with excellent moisture resistance that protects against rust or corrosion. With proper care. SIMMONS furniture remains beautifully new for years. Overall condition is good. The drawers are in good condition. With the top drawers showing a little rust on the inside. This auction is for a Antique desk set.Arts& crafts w/horse head logo#26 art deco copper brass. i am not sure of the trademark impression and whole it is attributed to. The longer piece is 6.25" x 3 5/8" deep and 2" tall, this seems to be missing the bottom plate. The other piece is 4.5" long, 5' deep and 3 3/8" tall. Both have the similar methods of construction. Some use wear, but in generally very nice shape. Thank you. Buyer gets these as seen and described. Rare. 4 pc Pinkish aluminum desk set from the Smith Metal Arts. Set includes Clock, blotter, pen holder and sides for a leather pad. All piece have a really nice, smooth surface. There is a minute difference in shades of the pad edges compared to the other pieces. Clock- Clock is working. Has a label for Moon Crest. Measures 6 3/4” x 3 4/5” x 3 1/2. There is a very, very slight banding in the color. Wiring is in excellent condition. Blotter- Measures 5 5/8” x 1 1/2’ x 3 1/8. Knob unscrews to change the blotter Surface- very good- has a few tiny dings. Pen holder- Measures 10” x 4 7/8” x 1 1/8. Engraved with owners name& title Top edge has some shallow dents. a few lighter spot to the tray. There are a few tiny dings to the surface. It is missing. On the left side, a brass washer under the pen holder. Base of the pen holder has some damage. ... moreOnce glued in it won’t matter. Leather matte sides. This set originally had the leather. Just found the matching rocker blotter for the set. Pictures added, 10, 11, 12. Probably one of a kind, excellent patina on the bronze. All of the bronze pieces and the glass ink well insert are in great condition, no nicks or dents. The blue pad of the desk pad needs replacement, it is torn and stained, a paper/felt product. The desk pad measures 11" by 21" the inkwell is 2 5/8" square by 2" tall, the fountain pen holder is 2 1/4" by 6 3/4" the blotter is 1 3/4" by 4 5/8" and the letter holder is 1 1/4" by 3 1/4" by 5 1/4" I try to find any defects but I can't guarentee I'll see them all. Each piece is marked"K& CO. inside an oval. The inkwell retains its original glass insert and measures approx. 7 x 7 inches square. The letter holder is 6 1/2 inches long by 5 1/2 inches tall. The calender is complete and retains its original glass front and measures 5 inches wide by 5 1/2 inches tall. The blotter measures 3 inches wide by 5 3/4 inches long and the the letter opener measures 9 inches long. VERY COOL ART DECO ARTS & CRAFTS ERA CAST IRON BRIDGE ARM DESK LAMP
This auction is for a very cool cast iron(I think) Art Deco desk lamp. It has a very angular steam punk look to it. I don't find the cold painted colors attractive on it but that's any easy fix. The lamp has been rewired and it does work. The shade is not original to the lamp but it doesn't look too bad. It probably could use something a little shorter and maybe wider for a shade. It measures about 15 1/4" high at it's tallest point. It is marked on the bottom inside with E727. A very nice piece of antique lighting that is most definitely a diamond in the rough.
