It is fully functional and very sturdy! I noticed that one of the screws is missing from the top portion of the writing desk so the top is a tiny bit loose with a slight wiggle. There are some pen marks and paint marks on the desk- you know how kids are! There is a 4 in split in the wood on the top writing desk. There are scuffs and scratches from use/storage. For auction. From a Tennessee estate, is a Very Nice Sheraton Style Desk Made by Imperial Furniture Co. Grand Rapids Michigan c1939. The desk appears to be mostly Mahogany. I am not sure about the carving. The desk has 3 leather panels on top. The desk is approximately 54" wide. 28" deep and 30" tall. It has 8 drawers. The bottom right drawer is a deep file drawer. The desk is in very good antique/used condition. At the front of the desk it may have been repaired at one time. There are two pieces of wood, one is 3" by 1" and the other one is 2" by 1" that appear to have been inlaid(not initially apparent or significant) The leather top has some stain which contributes to the authenticity,age and use of the desk. ANTIQUE SCHOOL DESK with Ink well and original graffitti! This desk was never refinished. it is as it was when taken out of the school. In Union City, Connecticut. It's in good condition ready for your re-finishing. As I peruse the listings I see very similar desks all made in different places. In the days of these desks they must have been made more or less locally since there weren't highways and trucks to transport them around the country. This desk. As I presume the others as well, was patented, yet all the desks are pretty much the same. I don't understand that, maybe it was hard to enforce the patent laws back then. at any rate, this one was made by the S. S. Case Co. in Hartford. Connecticut prior to 1910. If you really want one of these desks and there isn't one local for you I am willing to ship this. It really is ... moretoo large for me to find a box for it so it will have to go by freight. The desk weighs around 70lbs and I would strap it to a skid which weighs about 40 Lbs I would then stretch wrap it to keep it clean. I'm putting 130 in the freight calculator as the weight. What you see for sale is a very good quality 50" S-Roll top desk with raised panels and many cubbies and drawers inside. The desk is in very good condition having been professionally restored in the summer of 2012. The desk was fully stripped and sanded and then restained. The desk was made by the Gunn MFG Company in Grand Rapids. MI. For a little history on The Gunn Company read below. Measurements are 50"W 35"D 50"H. Gunn Furniture Co.s history can be traced back to 1874. When William S. Gunn started selling furniture at his Grand Rapids hardware store. In 1890 he incorporated his own manufacturing firm, the Gunn Folding Bed Co. Because the popularity of folding beds was waning fast, three years later he changed his company's name to the Gunn Furniture Co. and started making desks, bookcases, files and other office ... morefurniture. The woods he used included walnut, oak and mahogany. The firm was sold in 1953 to Bergsma Brothers, Inc. also of Grand Rapids. Bergsma Brothers closed in 1985. So that means. Despite not having any markings to be found on the desk, this piece was built sometime between 1874-1953 making it at least 60 and up to 139 years old. Truly an antique. Thank you for looking. Hi. I am selling this really nice vintage desk. On the back there is the number 2449. Inside the top drawer is the metal label of Johnson-Handley Johnson Co. I have included a picture. The drawers are dove tailed and all of the drawers glide smoothly. This desk is very solid and very nice. But there are few small things I would like to point out. I have not polished or done anything to it since I received, including not dusting. There are some water rings on top, also a scrape on the top back left hand corner. On the first large drawer, down in the very right hand corner of it is a chip. Also on the left hand side there is a slight gap, probably just needs a tap but I don't do those things. It measures 42" tall, 33" wide, and 18" deep. This item is a pick up only. I am located about 25 miles south of San Francisco. It is ... morea very beautiful piece. This solid oak Child's Roll Top Desk is a well made"time capsule" from the past in amazing vintage condition. Ready to serve new generations. It was made by the Paris Manufacturing Company of South Paris, Maine, probably around 1910 or later. It has a flexible roll top, flat writing surface, storage compartments with a little drawer, plus two larger drawers on the right. Other than some marker marks and pencil and crayon on the oak writing surface and the same on the inside bottom of the drawers. This has remained solid and beautifully crafted ready to hand down to a new fortunate child. At one time, this had a key for the drawers and the roll top. Antique 1930's Solid Walnut or Maple Executive Desk( Lawyers Bankers Desk) by LINCOLN Desk Co This auction offers you the opportunity to bid on a solid walnut or maple executive size desk in very good original condition. It was made by the Lincoln Desk Company in 1936( I believe) as the patent number is 1936113. The age of the desk is an educated guess going by the patent number. Nice large full size banker or lawyers desk that has 6 drawers in all including the center drawer. With two additional pull out writing boards. No keys to the center drawer but you can change the lock very easily. Original finish on the wood and this desk has turned pedestal legs. Minor normal wear, all good solid walnut wood with dove tial joinery and the drawers all open and close smoothly as they should with the exception of the deep file drawer. It is a little ... moretight but closes completely. The drawers all have original brass pulls. Overall dimensions are 60" by 34" by 30 inches tall and I have a glass top for this desk. Nice well made desk back in the days when quality craftsmanship was important to success. Beautiful patina reflects the age of this desk. There is a Lincoln penny or brass insert and a brass patent number on the inside of the drawer that I have pictured. Here is your chance to own a piece of history from an era gone bye. Wood Rolltop Desk. A.H. Revell & Co circa 1920
Wooden rolltop desk made around 1920 by A.H. Revell& Co furniture. Beautiful condition. But eight inch section of the top of the rolltop is unattached. That 8-inch section is original and matching, is in good condition, and is included. The top(secretary/rolltop portion) can be taken off and that section is 50 inches wide X 13 inches tall X 32 inches deep. Six drawers and one small door with non-functional key in top piece. Bottom(desk portion) is 50 inches wide X 31.5 inches tall X 32 inches deep. Seven Drawers in bottom piece. Top drawer on each side automatically locks and requires a hidden lever to be pushed down to unlock them. All drawers and doors work and move smoothly. All eight legs are capped in a dark brass and all have a functioning swivel wheel. Antique School Desk by E H Stafford Co
This charming original desk has a patent date of Dec 31. 07 marked on the bottom seat frame. They were manufactured between 1907-1929. This therefore is one of the earlier ones. It is in excellent shape with some original markings by it's young scholars still on the top of the desk. The wood is in excellent condition- no cracking or separating. All the hinge movements are clean and smooth. This is a very tight little desk- no wobbles on a level surface.

Hello and thank you f or viewing our listing for. Wallmounted Secretary Desk/Chalkboard This listing is for a previously owned Valentine-Glascock Co Wallmounted Secretary Desk/Chalkboard. This item is in need of serious restoration. The board sticking up at the top of the cabinet has a couple of cracks in it. The back board of the cabinet is no longer attached. This board seems to be some sort of cardboard and it is brittle and breaks apart. There are some holes in the board as well. This can be seen behind and amongst the shelves. The straps that hold the desk piece horizontal are broken. One is broken where it would join the desk. The other is cut in the middle. The chalkboard on the face of the cabinet, when closed, has cracks running over most of the surface. The scrolls are Boy Scout related. One of the fragments of a scroll is copyrighted Valentine-Glascock Co with the year 1918. The frame is 29 inches tall and 23 inches wide. It would sit 2 1/2 inches out from the wall. There is an eye hook on each side with a wire running between them to hang the cabinet. I have done my best to describe the condition of this piece. This is a very rare piece. I believe they called it a learning desk or hanging student desk. It has a chalkboard on the front and it opens to shelving inside where the child would store his pencils and such. Inside is in pretty decent condition. The wood needs a cleaning and TLC on the outside. The paper scroll(which is rare to have in tact) is there and whole. It is extremely frail and takes caution rolling the two levers to change images. There are other images showing basic learning skills through out the scroll and a lot of boy scout images. The scroll is dirty and starting to tear. Some areas were taped. Vintage Mahogany Spinet Style Desk with pullout writing tray. 3 draws, 2 cubby holes, and 2"secret" draws. This lovely piece measures 36" long x 21" deep x 33" high. It can be used as a desk or as a sideboard in any room. The draws are large enough to allow it to be a writing/laptop desk. Hall Table or Sideboard. Great acessory piece in great condition. Inside draws are 8" x 8" x 1 1/2" the main draw is 24" x 16" x 2 1/2" the 2 cubbies are 4" x 9" x 1 1/2" deep and the secret compartments are 3 1/2 x 18" x 3" deep. Overall it weighs about 50 pounds which allow it to be moved effortlessly form place to place. It was made in the Grand Rapids area of Michigan by Colonial Mfg. This desk is more unusual to me because of the large oak panel in front. The vertical storage, and the foot rest. The design certainly does provide more room underneath the top for adults. I, for instance, although large in size, was able to sit down in the seat by lifting the top straight up, and then lowering it when I was in position. It was a bit cramped, but then again, it was designed at a time when adults were much smaller in general. Made of Tiger oak panels and stamped and tubular steel parts. The oak is dark and rich in color from age. This desk has an ink well hole(no ink well. But I think you could find one on eBay if you look long enough) The seat post underneath has three holes. I would guess where you could add a bolt or collar(not included) to adjust the seat height. The seat top is currently about 16" off the ground. School desk that I purchased for my daughter she has outgrown. I purchased from the grand daughter of a local retired school librarian. Whose husband was a well known local high school football coach. I did not repaint, refinish, or affect appearance in any way. I think this desk has seen very limited actual student use. The woman we purchased from said that Granny brought home in like new condition. Therefore I believe it was never touched to improve appearance. Only real kid marks from the woman we bought from, her mother, her children, and my daughter. ANTIQUE GRAND RAPIDS FURNITURE CO. CAST IRON SCHOOL DESK LEGS INDUSTRIAL AGE
Hello. This is a beautiful set of antique cast iron school desk legs from Grand Rapids Furniture Co. out of Michigan. They have really nice ornate patterns and awesome embossment proudly displaying their origin. These come from a time when quality mattered and things lasted for more than a few months of use. They are commonly being used for tables, and various forms of stands. The bottom shelf(as seen in the pics) folds up. My wife loves them as plant stands, a great time to pull out those special pieces of board you have been saving. I have 5 sets of these, all exactly the same, but would prefer not to combine shipping for fear that they will get damaged, it's just too much weight and too many pieces in one box. The top shelf is 22" high(from the ground) and 11" wide. The bottom shelf is 12" high and 9" wide. All the legs have light rust toward the bottom area but all are undamaged and have no cracks. VINTAGE PARIS MFG CO NUMBERED ROLL TOP DESK-NEEDS A LITTLE WORK--PICK-UP ONLY
This is what I think to be a youth's roll-top desk. It measures 19" wide. 30" across and 38" high. Paris Mfg Co, South Paris, Maine, is marked in red on the back of the desk, and it is numbered, No. 840. The pigeon holes are fantastic, and there are curved receptacles for what I suppose would be pencils. I think it is made of oak. It's really in good shape but needs some tender loving wood-worker's care. One of the drawers doesn't open. And the pull-out writing element is stuck but it did come out, I'm just not that handy. Antique Solid Mahogany Spinet Secretary Desk Table by Colonial Mfg Co Early 1900
Antique spinet desk manufactured in the early 1900's by the Colonial manufacturing company. It is a secretary style desk with a fold down top. A slide out writing surface, 4 small drawers and 5 cubbies on the interior and 1 large drawer that is accessible when top is folded down. This desk is made of solid mahogany and is marked as such inside lower drawer. It is in solid shape structural. The finish has some scratches, scuffs and other markings that can be seen in the pictures. Make an offer! This item is pick up only. Shipping is not available. All pictures are of actual item. 53123 JOHNSON CO ADAM STYLE 50s SATINWOOD & MAPLE DROP FRONT DESK W DRAWER
A very fine Adam Georgian style drop front desk by the Johnson Furnture Co. Circa 1950's? The box case has satinwood veneers, the drop front with hand painted enamel classical urn with flowers. The interior has an olive green enamel cubbyhole with two drawers, the writing frame has satinwood veneer, and green leather pad. There is a drawer with maple knobs. The tapered square legs and skirt are maple. It measures 38-1/2" tall by 26-3/4" wide by 16-1/4" deep, the drop front down is 27" from the floor. The pad is 21-1/4" by 7-1/2" Includes the lock and key. Excellent condition: all solids and veneers without chips or cracks, original finish not scratched, no ring spots. The urn and flowers is without wear. The interior is equally fine.
