Here is a beautiful child's desk& chair set. Somewhere between 1900& 1940. This is a small version of the larger ones made then. Picture#8 shows some letters& words that I cannot seem to make out. Of what was probably the manufactor. It has the original stain, which has not even been attempted to re-finish. Some think that would ruin this set. Children have definitely used it, for the wear you see, but it is solid and sturdy, and has lots of wear left in it. There are three drawers on the right side, and the top one locks. you may be able to find a key for this, or ask a locksmith to make one. Above the top drawer that locks is a little slide-out board for writing on. There is a large center long drawer too. The chair swivels, and has cast iron framing, with an adjusting center screwing device which allows for the chair height ... moreto be as low to the floor as 14 inches, up to 16 inches, easily. At it's taller setting, the chair is 29 inches tall, from top of back to floor. The seat is 12 5/8" wide and 12 3/4" deep. This is extremely well made, and sure belongs in someone's home with a child who will enjoy and use it. The desk measure 29 inches tall, and is 33 1/2 inches wide and 18 inches deep.

I bought this at a yard sale& though someone might want to rehab it. It has not been touched in quite a while it seems& has some damage to its desktop with a few paint splashes. The darker variations on the wood are just droplets of rain that came off of my garage door right before taking the photos. The metal is in need of TLC as it shows signs of wear. The drawer under the chair comes in and out. The desk moved back and forth with an adjustable lever. I'm not an antique person but will ship it in pieces or all together based on your request. The slanted work surface is 14 inches by 26 inches and the stationary flat back is 5 inches. The depth of the drawer goes from 2 ½ inches to 4 inches. It is 22 inches tall and weighs 14 pounds. It is a one owner item and has its original finish. The bottom of the drawer is one piece of wood. The two hinges have replacement screws on the top part that don’t match the originals. There are thin cracks on both sides where they were inserted. There is also a wear mark on the bottom right of the top where the desk was continually opened. Overall. It’s in very good used condition. It’s a very quaint little desk. The legs can be removed if desired to keep shipping costs down. So I can only go by what I was told, but back when I bought it, the dealer informed me that the desk AND chair are a MATCHED PAIR that are from the 1920's. He said the brass hardware on the drawers are consistent with that period, but is not certain if they are the actual ... moreoriginal handles that were on it the day it was first sold. Unfortunately, I can't remember the manufacturers name, but you might be able to tell by looking at the pictures. I looked it over and couldn't find any labels or markings. I love the little chair. The fully functional brass hardware and triple banister post back. Coupled with the corkscrew design for raising and lowering the chair height is such a clever and inventive design. It is also very strong and sturdy! They just don't make chairs this durable any more! You can truly feel the history when you see this set. It is a great little set. The desks roll top is fully functional and there are little cubby cubicles inside for storage. There are 2 smoothly sliding drawers with a skeleton key type lock. No key though. The desk and chair both have the normal wear and tear marks from the last almost 100 years. But they both in pretty good shape considering it was used by children. You can see minor maintenance repairs here and there, but nothing major that I can see. Just stuff like a couple new screws here and there. Antique Child's Miniature School Desk, Wood & Cast Iron Metal Kindergarten Size
I found this miniature child's school desk while cleaning out an old farm homestead. This desk is very small 20" tall. 17.5" long and 12.5" wide. There is a pencil groove in the top. It is wood and cast iron construction. Definitely an old one and its condition is commensurate with the age. Just as I found it, the paint is worn and missing, the metal is rusty and pitted. The bottom of the legs appear to be missing some type of foot perhaps and one leg is slightly shorter. The wood has NO rot issues. ANTIQUE RARE CHILD'S OAK WOOD ROLL TOP DESK Up for Auction; Used Rare Vintage Antique Child's or Doll Oak Roll Top Desk. This desk is in Very Good Condition for its age. I do not know the exact age but believe it was around the late 1920's. I do know that the desk was stripped of its original stain and clear coated to bring back its original true oak color. And the drawer pulls were replaced, in the late 1980's. The desk show the normal wear for its age. A few of the wood slats appear to be loose but all are present and intact. One of the Front legs of the desk has a wood gouge. There is a small blue plastic pen holder that is glued down inside of desk(the pen is missing) There is NO chair with this desk. The overall dimensions is 15”deep by 20 1/2” wide and 33 1/2” tall. The interior of the desk is 12 1/2” deep and 17 1/2” ... morewide. There are 4 cubicles inside of the desk each measuring 3 1/2” deep by 3 1/2” wide. The drawer 11 1/2” deep and 15 1/4” wide and 1 1/2” high. Many use these as decorative displays for plants. Antiques, and crafts. But, if you want to play“school” you will need a chair. Take a look at my other listing. I have 2 other school desk one from ASCo and the other from Theodor Kundtz Co. listed. For as long as I could remember these desk were in my parents basement with the Roll Top first and the 2 other desk behind it. This allowed for 3 desk and 3 chairs. Next item is this beautiful child's antique Oak flip-top school desk with Ink Well and Pencil or Pen station in original condition with aged wear. Minor and heavier scratches, nicks, dings, minor chips to the finish and the wood and areas of ink stains and minor paint residue. One of the rubber pads of the flip-top is missing and there are areas of minor surface corrosion to the metal hardware. The desk measures 25-1/2"H x 24"W x 16" front to back and assembled from 3/4" thick pieces of White Oak. From the floor to the bottom of the desk measures 19-3/4" to accommodate a chair no taller than that. This desk is solid. No wobble, wiggle or shake. It was very well made, strong and durable. There are no makers marks. That I can find, anywhere on the desk. The larger glass inkwell seen in the photos is included. It ... morewas the only one I had available that wouldn't tip over or fall through the hole. This is a great decorative item and makes a nice end table with storage too!
