The shelves are loose within the bookshelf / Vitrine section and also within the secretary slant front portion, but the glass is intact within the door. The secretary has an amazing custom cut beveled mirror with a 1-inch bevel, that is on the top at the right side and lovely carved details and applied accents all throughout. The backing on the mirror is a bit loose, but this should be an easy fix. The piece is lockable, however, there is no key with it. It also has the original metal hardware, which is absolutely incredible and ornate as well. There is a lot of light staining and wear as well as scratches and dings to the finish.

Anyway this is a score and I'm proud to offer this for your consideration. I believe this is a No 17 model desk and it is truly in very nice condition with no signs of repairs or break except the bottom drawer has a minor glue in corner. The finish is very good as the pictures should show off and the original key works fine and all hardware is original and working perfectly. It is nice and sturdy a sets flush with no wobbles. It measures 47" tall x 30" wide x 17" deep. The back is not beautiful with the white wash but the original Larkin labels are present and in good shape. Once again Greyhound Express is great and should ship this for about 90 west coast and 70 east. As long as you can pick it up. Local pick up is always option too and I now have a utility trailer and can deliver within reason. Early 1900's Combination Curio Antique Peice. Side by Side. Used by some through the Depression. Well-cared for over the years. In near mint condition. Was never restored, in original condition. Bowed glass on curio may have been replaced. Not an expert. But I beleive, though not for certain, this to be of Mahogany Wood. This peice is NOT wobbly. It is sturdy. Four Legs are wood- no cracks. All solid. Overall, in very fine condition. Only flaw: missing handle on curio door. But, there is an easy fix. Hardware, drawer pulls are delicate and pretty for sure. Carvings are detailed, unique in thier own rite, and pretty. Overall the carving theme seems to be of hour glass or shell, in my opinion. Highly carved, refined. Overall, the peice is simply elegant. It is darker wood. Many of this style of antique is oak or other, but few are this ... moregrain and this color. Top shelf over desk. Mirror is beveled. All drawers pull great. Eschucheons(key holes) all in place- though I do not have the key for locking. Inside desk is neat with pull out drawer and some shelving. Hinges on desk are Secure! Fine to hold a lap top. Curio neat to store those show-off collectibles. Four shelves. The shelves can be adjusted for heigth, however, currently, the top shelf is the longest. Measurements: 5'4" tall(final height at carving over beveled mirror) 3'1" wide, and exactly one foot deep, would be 11" from wall, but bowed glass makes it exactly a foot. Nice functional peice- and, a peice of history. Somewhat petite, not obtrusive size out from wall. THIS IS FOR LOCAL PICK-UP ONLY. Up for your consideration today is our beautiful LARKIN solid oak curio cabinet. Desk, secretary, bookcase, I call it all those things because depending on my mood its purpose changes. When I saved old ink wells and antique books it was set up as a victorian desk and bookcase complete with inkwell and quill pen. When I wanted to use it(as it is shown) to display my green depression glass, the glass shelves displayed that beautifully. It is a solid oak piece with all the original hardware and original beveled mirror. We did add the glass shelves. They were missing when we purchased this piece many years ago. It has a drop leave desk that hides all the little cubbies and small drawer. There is a storage closet and a larger drawer under the drop leave desk. We have the original key and it still works. It works fine on the glass door that encloses the glass shelves and it also works fine on the drawer under the desk top. The mechanism is missing to lock the large door under the desk top. Antique oak secretary desk side by side beveled mirror original CURVED glass
This desk has the original curved. Rounded glass on the left side, which makes it really beautiful and elegant. There are shelves behind the glass to hold books and miscellaneous. The right side has a pull-down writing platform. And some cubby holes for envelopes, index cards, etc. and a small drawer for pencils, stamps, etc. Desk has all original hardware. The top has a beveled mirror and a shelf for decorative or practical items. The shelves to the left could be taken out and used as a gun case, but I've never used it for that, and you would have to put in your own lock and key. This is for pick-up only. It has a glass bow front door with four adjustable shelves. A beveled teardrop mirror, a bow front top drawer and claw feet. It retains its original finish and includes two keys, one for the bookcase and one for the desk and drawers. Unknown as to the manufacturer. It carries two shipping labels on back. Over the years the lid swelled prohibiting it from closing and locking properly. The hinges were lowered and reset to allow for closing and locking however as a result the lid doesn't lay flat.
