Up for auction is an antique Heywood Wakefield wicker desk. It has been painted green. As you can see in the pictures the paint is quite distressed on the wood writing surface. I have seen an exact desk that was made by Heywood Wakefield that had a metal tag on the back. This one no longer has the tag. Measures 38" Wide ~ 22" Deep Height of desk top is 30" Height of desk including wicker desktop holder is about 38" Has a working wood drawer on front. As you can see in the photos it does have some damage on the front left leg near the bottom. There is broken wrap and some is missing. The back two legs are in good condition. The front right leg has minimal wear. I found only one other obvious place where there is a single strand of wrap missing. The wood desk top shows some normal age related wear. The lower wood shelf is in very nice condition. The interior ... morefinish of the drawer is worn. This is a gorgeous addition to your cabin. Primitive, stickley or cottage decor. Antique White Rattan Wicker Cottage Chic Writing Table & Chair FABULOUS FIND!!!
This is an incredible possibly antique(1920s? but definitely an early vintage WHITE WICKER WRITING DESK AND MATCHING CHAIR! The table features two corner rounded pockets on either side of the top. Standardly used to hold writing utensils, paper notes and such. The design emotes a soft elegance- smooth rounded edges are featured throughout the table and it's dimensions are unusually proportionate, making it a truly usable desk! There are some areas of paint loss; the most obvious being on the right side of the desk table top(2 small spots- see pictures) It does have a slight wobble, which I think can be easily fixed with a very slim piece of felt underneath one of the legs. The table is in the same solid condition. Minor paint loss as well. And the two side angled beams need to be re-nailed into the seat base.
