The lid and supports have all the hardware intact. The lid opens to reveal a multi-cubby hole interior. It has four modern solid wood shelves that I don’t believe are original. The molding on the double door top is unusual chain style going around both doors. It is a heavy duty solid wood desk. There is a crack in the lid as shown in the photos. The glass on the top on the left-hand door has a space in the top. It is very usable. It is in a dark oak stain finish.

The desk comes with four raised panel dove tail drawers that retain all the original hardware. The center where the legs go have a reverse cove carving, which I have never seen in oak. It has a scallop bottom trim base, raised panels all the way around and a wide bevel edge on the solid tiger sawn oak top. The only negatives I see on the desk is that there is a little wear on the edge of the top from rubbing against something and there is a split going down the center of the top. We most likely could pull the top off and repair the top, which wouldn’t make a huge difference, but it is an expensive repair. The desk itself is high end quality.

The measurem e nts are 26" deep x 38" wi de x 29 3/4" tall. The front drops down and in side is a writing platform w ith an inkwell hole. Pencil rest, and cubbies in t he back for en v elopes. Etc. To the right is a drawer which actually comes completely out. The hinges have been replaced on this front piece as well as t he glass kno bs. There is an old keyhole and the lock seems to still be intact. However we do not have a key. My husband had his computer on this desk and be cause the underside of the des k is open. Antique Mission Oak Library Desk I can find no markings on this except a#17 in pencil in the drawer slide and a# 17 in pencil in the drawer. I assume they did this so they would know which drawer went with which desk, and does not allude to who made the desk. I got this from my wife's uncles estate. He was 96 when he passed and he got this desk from his parents estate in Spokane Wa. when they passed. It is made from solid oak and on the ends of the top board you can see that the top is tongue and grooved. Very hard to show in the pictures. I don't know tiger oak from quarter sawn oak so you be the judge. There is some what appears to be grey paint on one corner of the top. please see pictures. Someone drove 2 finish nails about 2' long into the top of one of the legs. One leg has a chip out of it at the bottom about the size of ... morea quarter and another leg has a little grey paint at the bottom of one side. See pictures. I have made no attempt to repair. Clean or restore the finish on this desk, it is in the condition it was given me in. All in all this desk is in great vintage condition given its age. When I saved old ink wells and antique books it was set up as a victorian desk and bookcase complete with inkwell and quill pen. When I wanted to use it(as it is shown) to display my green depression glass, the glass shelves displayed that beautifully. It is a solid oak piece with all the original hardware and original beveled mirror. We did add the glass shelves. They were missing when we purchased this piece many years ago. It has a drop leave desk that hides all the little cubbies and small drawer. There is a storage closet and a larger drawer under the drop leave desk. We have the original key and it still works. It works fine on the glass door that encloses the glass shelves and it also works fine on the drawer under the desk top. The mechanism is missing to lock the large door under the desk top. The piece is numbered with"172" carved into the wood inside the large storage area under the desk top. Antique American Standard Furniture Co Solid Red Oak Schoolmaster's Desk 59.5"W
This incredible desk by Standard Furniture Company of Herkimer. New York is in good condition and measures 59.5"W x 35.5"D x 30.25"H. This desk has went from schoolmaster's to a local steel mill's office to somebody's garage as a common work bench( Don't worry. Though, it has survived and fortunately it wasn't beaten up too bad. There are replace handles on the main drawer which locks each of the drawers when closed. These drawers must be in their specific cubby hole to work which are all signs of superior quality(you know the whole locking thing with specifically numbered drawers) I'm pretty sure I have the key for this desk somewhere. There are some scrapes to sides& gouges to the body but nothing too bad. I tried to give some detail in the pictures which I'm going to expand. This desk has ... morebeen tucked safely away in Handbanino's vaults for awhile and rather than waiting and prolonging its vacation I cleaned it off and gave as informative of a snapshot of where it's at right now. My deadline was 8 PM today and no matter what it was going on. No more scrubbing this a little more or evening out the finish out some more over there all though I will probably touch it up some more before it arrives in your home. It's not easy to get outdoor lighting. A good photogenic appearance, a decent natural backdrop to line up so I hope everything looks clear enough. The sun gave it a little bit of an alien glow but I tried to grab the most normal pictures, the top being detailed from left to right in the last three. As you can see there are some zones of"extra patina" over the wood grain but those have gone done from what it originally showed up with. Vintage Desk This antique desk is made of solid white oak and dates from the late 1800's to the early 1900's. The desk has an older finish which has recently been waxed to bring back its finish. The drawers have solid brass lion head pulls. The raised back top section of desk has an opening that was originally used for files. Office clip boards etc. and has recently had the the inside corners notched to inset a piece of glass to turn the top section into an upper shelf. The top of desk angles down slightly like the old school desk from that era. The underside of desk has had some repairs and pieces replaced over the years to strengthen the legs and top. We are pleased to offer this antique desk. This is a beautiful old desk dating to the early half of the 20th century. The desk is made of solid oak in the Mission. Arts& Crafts style. It is"Stickley" styled with a clean, simple design. The desk top is compromised of 2 planks which provide a generous work space. It has a single center drawer for pens, pencils, etc. Each side features two, open shelves for paper/file storage. The legs are simple and slightly supercede the height of the table top. The desk has wooden buttons which cover the screws/nails. It is in very good antique condition. There is a very slight bow on the top which is neither severe or distracting. There are some minor nicks and dings from use, but again, nothing too obvious or distracting. There is one screw cover that is missing on the back of the desk(see ... morephoto 10) The desk is sturdy and the screws can be tightened if they loosen. Antique Larkin-style solid Oak Secretary Desk- c.1901? This listing is for a'Larkin-style' or maybe actual Larkin/ Chautauqua. Secretary Desk- the desk is solid Oak, with a fold out desk/ secretary. During the late 1800's and early 1900's. The Larkin Soap Company was making and offering various items free with large orders, one of these items being the'Chautauqua Desk' Refer last picture- these desks look very similar to this item. The desk is a golden oak color. With three(3) shelves and stands 53" tall x 30" wide and 12" deep, this becomes 26 1/4" deep with the desk open) There is no key for the lock. The desk weighs approximately 40- 50 lbs and is quite sturdy, i.e. well held together, not rickety at all.
