Clifford Kirkpatrick started his company in the early 1930's. He had briefly worked at a dry cleaners and caught on really fast about the procedures. He refined the process and started a door to door business to the cleaning companies to sell his equipment. Specialty chemicals and procedures. One of his companies was in Los Angeles, but he was even known for his cleaning products and equipment internationally. At one time, he changed the name to Kirk's Suede-Life. He sold the business to Suede Products. LLC in 1960. After trying to do a little more research. I am beginning to think that this was an actual tool that was used in the dry cleaning/ ... morewetcleaning process in the cleaners industry. I am really not sure. Whatever it is, it is really cool looking. It measures 28 3/4" long. The handles are wood and the blades are wood. There are 2 small holes in the blades but I am not sure why. Odd Vintage Rodgers MOP-2 Knife Blades& Scissors Very Sharp 3 in 1 Tool This is a nice little find with Scissors coupling with two knife blades inside the handles. Guess this could of had been used for many purposes. It is sharp! As you can see in the pictures, the Mother of Pearl has a diamond pattern to it. The scissors measure 3 1/4" long from tip to the bottom of the handle, the scissor blades measure 1 1/4" The knives in the handle measure about 1 1/4" long. You should also be able to see that there is some rusting around the pins in the handles, no chips or cracks that I can see. The blades have been used and you would expect this from a knife and scissor combo. Neat and unusable I think. Looks like a spiked bug that wants to get ya, lol. The knife blade is stamped pretty good, it shows the crown and the name, ROD-GERS ... moresplit into two rows. I know this is an old knife& scissor set, but not sure about the exact year. Vintage SUPREMO sewing scissors shears leather working primitive tool rare craft
Rare industrial style vintage Supremo brand sewing or leather working scissors or shears. They are 10 inches long with 5 inch blades and are rather heavy in the hand about 1 pound. They were well used by their former owner. But will still cut thin fabric. The handle is flat black with rust colored metal showing threw where the hand has warren the paint away and the blades have a beautiful brown rust colored patina to them. These would make a marvelous addition to a sewing, leather work, Ferrier, or blacksmith collection and could be used for decor because of their primitive and rustic appearance.

Antique 1800s Vintage Large Scissors Tailor Shears Big Old Sewing Tool Different
Here we have a great pair(1) of large iron scissors or shears of the type often used by tailors but also other trades as well. I actually found these in with some very old boat building and sail making tools right here on the eastern shore of the Chesapeake bay. Measures about 11 1/2 inches from tip to tip. Is made out of forged iron. No name or markings that I could see. I would say condition is Good- Very Good. No damage such as cracks, breaks, pitting or repairs. The pivot rivet is a bit beat but doesn't affect anything. You are buying ONE(1) 12 inch cast iron and steel edge tailor's scissors marked R. Heinisch. Newark N.J. U.S.A. in very good condition. No rust or damage. I don't think the tip is damage but rather a casting defect where the steel edge is attached to the cast iron handle.it is too difficult to cast a very sharp tip in the 1860s or before. Rochus Heinisch. Is the American story of an immigrant who, in 1825, left his home in Leutmeritz. Bohemia(Austria) and immigrated to Brooklyn, New York. There he started a business of making surgical instruments. Soon after he moved to Elizabeth. New Jersey and in 1835 to Newark. He enlarged his cutlery business making scissors and even knives. He had three sons who worked with him in the business. A fourth son joined them after serving in the New Jersey volunteer regiment during the Civil War. After ... morethat the company was known as Heinisch’s Sons Company. For a short time Jacop Wiss. Of later Wiss scissors, worked for the Heinisch Company. The Heinisch’s Sons Company ceased production in 1914. Wiss purchased the manufacturing plant and became the largest scissor company at the time.
