This pair of textile. Tailor's scissors measure 14 1/4" overall with 7" sharp blades. I believe that is what the incised 7 is there for. ... moreI do not know what the 4 and 8 mean that are incised under the pivot nuts. Otherwise than that. I find no markings at all. The tightening system looks the same to me as the Wiss brand that had pat. applied for and their name on the nuts. Maybe this is a Wiss that was a prototype. Or maybe just another brand that was unmarked. These are in wonderful shape, with 2/3 of the enamel paint still on the handles. They operate smoothly and the adjuster nut and screw work just as they should. They weigh 2 lbs. So you can see why they would have the table"travel foot" on the handle so as not to wear your hand and arm out when using them all day! Fine working order with 1/3 paint loss and light blade oxidation. Use the zoom feature confirm the fineness of this pair of scissors!

This auction is for a really great pair of antique scissors. They measure about 16 inches in length! They have what appears to be a brass hinge. We've seen others that were virtually identical listed as being faintly marked from 1845& made in New York. We can't find a stamp mark on ours. But believe that it could be there but due to age we can't see it. We were tempted to try to polish them up to see if we could find anything, but don't want to ruin the lovely patina these have. The blades are still straight and sharp and they cut very well. These are very big and very heavy! Please see pictures as they are part of the description. At first they were cutlery importers. They and their heirs were the exclusive U.S. importers of J. A. Henckels Twin Works cutlery from 1884 to about 1948. Although no Henckels knives were imported to the USA between 1942 and 1950. According to the 1888 Illustrated New York- The Metropolis of Today. Graef and Schmidt were among the most active and enterprising manufacturers and importers of"high-class cutlery. Up for auction is a pair of antique tailor shears/garment scissors. I can find no makers markings on these. But they have THE LOOK of R. Heinisch scissors. I did look at the bolt through a 10x jewelers loop. But still could find no markings. I did not clean the bolt area for fear of ruining the antiquity of this scissor. I was told these were from a Levi's plant here in New Mexico. But I have no proof of such. It is in good used condition. Nice patina, still shows some of the original paint on the handles. Outstanding Personal Family-Owned Antique Pair Foot-Long Tailors Scissors Shears
Here is a very nice old pair of tailor's shears or cutting scissors. In quite fine condition overall, measuring a foot long, closed, and when the blades are open, they too measure just shy of 12" across. These beauties had a history in my family, my 91-year old mother telling me they were old when she was young, and they remain solid, with good cutting power. I have done nothing to spruce them up, and as you can hopefully see, they have character, even if they lack a little black on the handles. The pair weighs 14.1 ounces, and the name"R. Sevic- Chicago" is stamped on one outer blade, the number"25" on both interior blades. This is one of two seldom-seen tailor's tools I have at auction. Sharp! $19.99

Made of iron and brass, these scissors were the best that money could buy. The fit beautifully in your hand due to the wonderful thumb rest that makes these 2 pound shears actually comfortable to hold. Beautiful to look at- industrial or steampunk look. These Scissors or Shears were made or imported sometime between 1824 and 1837 by C. Klauberg. C. Klauberg was an importer of Cutlery in New York City from the Early 1800's to Early 1900's. The address in the Makers Mark is 173 Williams St. New York. NY. He moved his business to in 1824 and in 1837 the business was renamed C.Klauberg& Bros. Placing this item sometime between those two dates. This Set of Scissors or Shears would be used for cutting multiple layers of material. However, I think its cutting days are behind it. WM Schollhorn Shears Antique Tailor Scissors 7" Blades
This auction includes a pair of antique Taylor scissors by WM Schollhorn Co. The blades measure more around 7 inches although this pair is stamped 8. Shears measure 13 3/4 inches from tip of blades to tip of handle. I tested them and they appear to be quite sharp although I am not an expert. LARGE ANTIQUE TAILOR'S SCISSORS TEXTILE SHEARS VINTAGE FABRIC UNMARKED 14 1/4"
This pair of textile. Tailor's scissors measure 14 1/4" overall with 7" sharp blades. I believe that is what the incised 7 is there for. I do not know what the 4 and 8 mean that are incised under the pivot nuts. Otherwise than that. I find no markings at all. The tightening system looks the same to me as the Wiss brand that had pat. applied for and their name on the nuts. Maybe this is a Wiss that was a prototype. Or maybe just another brand that was unmarked. These are in wonderful shape, with 2/3 of the enamel paint still on the handles. They operate smoothly and the adjuster nut and screw work just as they should. They weigh 2 lbs. So you can see why they would have the table"travel foot" on the handle so as not to wear your hand and arm out when using them all day! This is an antique right handed shear made by R.H Hienisch inventor Newark New Jersey U.S.A. I picked this up at a recent antique tool club meeting thinking that they were very cool. I don't have a use for them so they must go to someone who does. These would be great for display in a collection. Hi Everyone. I'm back at it again. If you haven't stopped by in the past,at it" means cleaning out the attic, or other storage places. Well, enough of the intro. Up for sale is a pair of antique 9 inch shears. Made in US. They cut paper, need sharpening when it comes to other things. The only markings are 9 inch made US on one side, and the number 51 on the inside blade near the handle. The scissors are rusty, some pitting and look quite aged. The metal piece that holds the shears together is not a screw, but is solid flat on both sides. Someone has tried punching it, or they came with a certain number of punch marks. I don't know who these belonged to in our family, but I believe they likely belonged to my husband's grandmother. She passed away over 25 years ago at the age of 92. I am selling a number of scissors and ... moreshears that were in the attic, accumulated from over three generations of ancestors. They are being sold just as they are.
