The cloth is worn and some numbers are hard to read. There is color fading and age wear. If you look close you can see a ling that goes all the way around the basket part. This looks like a crack. Vintage Celluloid Dearborn Mich. Fish Measuring Tape- Sewing Notion- Japan Vintage Celluloid Dearborn Mich. Fish Measuring Tape Sewing Notion- Japan This vintage fish measuring tape is marked as if a souvenior of Dearborn Michigan. It appears to possibly be a trout. It is a greenish gray. Cream, and a faint pink stripe down it's side. It's bottom is stamped Japan. The cloth tape measure is clearly marked Japan as well. This appears to have had little use as the tape is tight and retracts quickly and tightly. I'm guessing this from around the 1930-1940s, but I'm really not sure. I've taken pictures without a flash so that the lettering is not washed out. The colors are nice and bright. This is a really neat little sewing notion that should be attractive to measuring tape collectors. Celluloid collectors, vintage fish, or ... moreeven fishing lure collectors.
