Vintage STORK Embroidery or Umbilical Cord Scissors #2
I always thought these were embroidery sewing scissors. But lately I notice them being sold as umbilical cord cutter scissors, so now I am not too s ure any more. They are very pretty nevertheless and I am sure if you are a collector of this type of thing you will know what you are bidding on! This one has no markings and shows tarnish spots. It looks like it may have been gold plated originally(like the other one I have listed) and I think it may also be of German origin but can't say for sure. Not good for cutting anymore. This auction is for a very neat pair of antique embroidery scissors in the shape of a bird or stork. The scissors measure almost 4 inches long. They are in excellent condition and still work beautifully. I believe they were gold plated. But some of the gold has rubbed off over time. The stamp inside the scissor(photo 4) says, H H Hill, Solingen, Germany" Sorry it is so hard to see. It is very clear with a magnifying glass. These were made in the early 1900's. I have a pair of Vintage stork/bird embroidery scissors. Dated to the early 1930's or before. This pair of scissors is marked Westfield MFG Germany, and was originally gold plated but the gold has worn down over the years. There is no other damage to the scissors, they are in original condition, i have not tried to polish them or alter them in any way. I have found similar scissors posted online, but i have not been able to find any from Westfield Germany, which leads me to believe they are slightly rarer then other types. The blades are tight and the points intact. They open and close and were probably made for a doll's chatelaine or sewing basket. They are in the original leather case that closes with a snap. They measure almost 1 5/8" long and are in excellent condition with no damage. They were most likely made in Germany. Very detailed Stork silver plate embroidery scissors made by Elyrin Shear Works in Elyrin Ohio. Elyrin was started by John& Henrie Clauss in 1877-1919. The scissors are stamped Clauss. Victorian Sewing Stork Scissors Very Nice
These are Victorian stork scissors. A Little wear from usage. Showing around the finger holes. The beak fits very well together, it does not have a gaps. However they may not be sharp to cut. These are in great shape, for the Victorian sewing collection. You can see the wing pattern on the stork going up his neck VI is a straight screw and it appears to be brass possibly with plate over it years ago. Vintage STORK SCISSORS Rare Larger Size! MEASURE 6 1/4" LONG
These rare larger sized stork scissors have been in my antique scissor collection for nearly 30 years. I don't know their origin or actual age but I've never seen another pair that is this larger size. They measure 6 1/4" long and 2" wide and are in working condition. The tip of the blades are bent but I don't think they were manufactured that way. I suspect they were used like a tool to pry something open which caused the blades to bend. There is also some tarnish along the blades due to their age. I can find no maker's mark. I was a quite an active seamstress for many years and I displayed my collection of antique scissors in an ornate frame on the wall in my sewing room. We're downsizing now and I'm letting go of many of my extraordinary possessions after 40 years of enthusiastic collecting and I'm ... morehoping that someone new will enjoy the beauty of these antique scissors as much as I have.

Antique Sewing Stork Scissors Picture Buttons Wedgwood Button Hook Lot
This is a lot of mostly antique sewing type items. There is a pair of Stork sewing scissors. They are marked Germany and something else I can't read. A beautiful enamel door knob off of? Marked Sterling with a Hallmark and some numbers. Needs to be polished. It does screw apart and can be used maybe on a small jewelry type chest. A small quarter size piece of blue Wedgwood. Marked Wedgwood on the back. Maybe came out of a pin? A small shoe button hook. I am unsure what the handle is made of. It is not marked. 4 antique picture buttons. Included is a dog's head on mother of pearl. A monkey, an angel, and a baby's head. All very rare.
