Charming antique. Heavy celluloid, BLACK Americana. Figural head tape measure. Circa 1920, made in Germany. Measuring just under 2 inches(1 3/4" high she has chubby features including full cheeks. Small mouth, molded and painted eyebrows and cute intaglio, side-glancing eyes. She also has lots of dark brown, molded and painted curly hair peaking out from her wrapped and tied red bandana as wll as a striped red and white shirt collar. Great rare vintage figural sewing tape measure. This bird- Shaped holder looks like a kookaburra. It has a cloth tape measure with a round metal end that comes out from beneath the bird’s tail. The kookaburra has quite a lot of detail in his painted metal body. The piece has some paint loss(see our pictures. On the underneath part of the tail you can make out faintly“ Germany” embossed in the metal. He stand proudly at 2 ¾ inches tall and is about 3 ½ inches from beak to tail. For your consideration is a very lovey antique figural sewing tape measure made in Germany. Man standing on a base with bouquets in each arm. Excellent quality. Stands 4 1/2" tall and is 1 3/4" wide at the base. NO chips. Cracks, crazing or repairs. The tape does work but a bit slow to retract. This is very, very old. This auction is for a nice pair of antique scissors. The short blades indicate these are probably for sewing and embroidery. The handles have a nice flower and ribbon design. Are both stamped Empire Art Silver and are sterling. The blades are stamped Geb K. Germany and are probably not silver. The tips of the blades are slightly bent and the handles show age-related patina but these are otherwise in good condition. These measure slightly more than 4" long and 2 1/2" wide across both handles.

These small scissors with a straight blade have been in my antique scissor collection for nearly 30 years. I don't know their history or actual age but my understanding is that only straight blades like this one were meant for sewing/embroidery and those with curved blades were actually considered manicure/nail scissors. One side is stamped Germany and the other side is stamped Western Cutlery They measure 3 5/8" long and 1 1/2" wide and they are in good working condition. I was a quite an active seamstress for many years and I displayed my collection of antique scissors in an ornate frame on the wall in my sewing room. We're downsizing now and I'm letting go of many of my extraordinary possessions after 40 years of enthusiastic collecting and I'm hoping that someone new will enjoy the beauty of these antique scissors ... moreas much as I have.

Desirable figural dog house formed tape measure with glass eyed pug dog House and dog are both in good shape. Tape is original and looks worn. I believe the tape broke at some point and was tied again. I haven't pulled the tape out completely to measure as I believe it could be tender. Spring works but doesn't pull tape in completely. Antique German Sewing Scissors Never Dull Brantford Cutlery Co. 4 3/8"
On offer are these antique German"Never Dull" sewing scissors made by the Brantford Cutlery Co. of Germany. These are pre-WW2. Probably around WW1 era. True to the name they still cut nicely. These are approx. 4 3/8" long and are in good, vintage condition as shown. The blades meet nicely and they do open and close easily. The little serrated wheel moves in and out and could probably use some WD40.please ask any questions you may have as all sales are final.
