This is an antique sewing etui. It is gorgeous with many of its original tools. A receipt from the 1980s is included. It was purchased in England and declares it to be Russian Victorian. I have no other way of verification. I haven't been able to find anything like it other than this one. It seems to be a rare piece and a rare fund. It is in delicate condition but in good condition considering it's age. One side compartment has come loose but I will leave that to the buyer should they want to repair it. There are places for thread. Needles,pins, tools and all sorts of things. Three of the tool holders in the main compartment come loose and will no longer hold tools. WELCOME! I am offering a Lovely Victorian Leather Sewing Box/Purse& Tools Ornate Gold& green tooled leather clad trunk shape Sewing Necessaire. Ornate brass closure works fine. Leather covered rope handles work well. They have leather loss. The bottom is a pebbled burgundy paper. Material hinged back. Overall Good Condition with expected age wear. Inside is lined in a dark purple color material with material hinges. The hinged section below is purple silk material with an oblong oval mirror. No breaks to the mirror. The back side of this section matches the inside and has loops for various tools and a thimble. On the bottom is a lift out piece with two loops for more tools. The back side of this is silk covered and matches the mirror section. There are a few small worn spots to the fabric. Otherwise Good Condition. What an awesome estate find! I'm selling this exactly as I found it! The embroidery hoop is marked sterling with the initials NTH engraved in it. The inside part of the hoop. Which is red, fits wonderfully inside, and could be used, if buyer chooses, to actually use this as a hoop. The scissors are marked sterling and Germany The needle sharpener is marked sterling(it's towards the top so I couldn't get a picture) The thimble isn't marked at all The outside of the case is red leather that does show some wear. It doesn't completely close and I'm too scared to force it. This might be an easy fix, but who would really want this closed? The inside is velvet and satin. It is marked James Allen& Co.
