The larger pair is by Robert Klass. What pretty detailing it has on the handle. These measure 5 1/2" long and are 2" wide at the handle area. The other pair is from Koch& Co and measure 3 1/2" long and are 1 3/4" wide at the handle area. Both have tarnishing. But seem to work fine. Pretty! I will ship first class mail. Terzano Description: These lovely and rare ornate antique Italian steel filigree sewing scissors have fancy pierced bows and handles with scrolling floral pattern. They are completely hand made and filed and the handwork and engraving on both sides is beautifully done. They are Italian from the famous steel making Campobasso city and are stamped with the maker’s initials. If you look at the picture you will note that there’s a tiny disc by the tip of one of the blades. When trying to cut off the selvages of a fabric to get the proper width or length you need to cut a straight line. The tiny disc on the tip allows to pull a thread up along the length of the fabric and use it as a cutting guide. It also can be used to create tulle inserts and to realize laces. The scissors measure approximately 5.5" long overall, the handles are decorative with a beautiful flower and scroll pattern, and each handle is marked"Sterling. The blades are marked"Germany. These scissors have clearly been lovingly used in the past(I have had them myself for 40+ years) as there is a dent in the handle where the two handles have been brought together(shown in the photos) Otherwise there do not appear to be any repairs or other issues with these beautiful antique scissors. I do the best I can on shipping costs but that is determined by the post office and eBay gets some of that too. Most items like knives, forks, gadget, jewelry etc. will be shipped in a padded envelope, if the post office puts this through a machine they are not supposed to and the package is damaged it is their fault not mine that it got damaged. Once the package leaves my hands I no longer have control over its safety at that point it becomes the responsibility of the carrier. No receipt will be included with an item unless it is over $50 or you request one. Need to save paper and ink. Items being shipped out of the country will not be insured therefore it is up to you to contact the carrier to see if they will help. The steel blades are tight with intact points and they cut beautifully to the tips. They are exceptionally high quality. The condition is excellent and they measure 5 5/8" long. Antique Victorian Brass Handled Large Ornate Sewing Or Desk Scissors
This is a large antique Victorian ornate brass handled sewing or desk scissor. It probably dates from the 1880s or 1890s. It measures 10 1/2 inches long(26.67 cm) It measures 2 1/4 inches wide at the handle(5.72 cm) Based on similar items. I'm pretty sure it comes from Germany. It cuts well. But on a slight curve because the two blades have separation in between them(please see photo) As you can see in the photos. There is dark tarnishing and some surface rust on the underside of the blades. There is also wear to the outer part of the blades. The screw is a little loose. There is what appears to be some solder where the brass handle meets the blades. I'm not sure if this was original or was done later to secure the handles. Overall. It's a very nice looking old scissor. It weighs just under 6 ounces(166 g)
