Terzano Description: These lovely and rare ornate antique Italian steel filigree sewing scissors have fancy pierced bows and handles with scrolling floral pattern. They are completely hand made and filed and the handwork and engraving on both sides is beautifully done. They are Italian from the famous steel making Campobasso city and are stamped with the maker’s initials. If you look at the picture you will note that there’s a tiny disc by the tip of one of the blades. When trying to cut off the selvages of a fabric to get the proper width or length you need to cut a straight line. The tiny disc on the tip allows to pull a thread up along the length of the fabric and use it as a cutting guide. It also can be used to create tulle inserts and to realize laces. The steel blades have intact points and they cut pretty well. They are exceptionally high quality however and would take a nice edge if you want to sharpen and actually use them for sewing.
