Antique Fenton April Showers Green Swung Vase Antique White Enameled Smaller Sewing Sock Darner Darning Egg Up for auction today is an antique wood sewing sock darner or darning egg used to repair or mend holes in socks that is a smaller darner that has white enamel paint on it. Darner measures approximately 4-1/2" long and is in good condition although the paint shows quite a bit of wear in the wood especially on the handle. This just adds character to them, and I find it an appealing feature, after all it is an old item with a history. The other is wood with a metal clamp or band and measures about 4 1/4" long. The metal clamp has Pat'd Dec. 18 1900 on it. They both have wear typical of pieces this old. I only ship to the USA.
