Beautiful scissors in excellent condition. Available marks are interesting artist and residual signs on one blade! Scissors is heavy. Solid and very strong. Made of tempered steel repeatedly. Scissors cut paper without a problem. Scissors is homespun and was used by a master tailor for cutting thick woolen fabrics. Wonderful exhibit. Up for bid is an Antique 13 1/4" pair of Scissors marked R. Heinisch Inventor Latest Patent 1839. There is very little of the original paint still on scissors. They have some rust and are stained. There is very little play in them. They are fairly tight. They cut paper very well. There are 2 brass nuts that have been banged quite a few times. Scissors are in good working condition for there age. This auction is for a very old scissors. Made in Germany, by Batpre. The first letter is not certain, but I think that is the name. These scissors are either made for manicures, or they are embroidery scissors. The handles are bakelite, I think. Not certain of that either. Very pretty little tool anyway. My guess on the age is 1930's or older. As you can see in the photos, the tip is broken off on one side. It is only a little piece missing, but I realize the devaluation caused by this damage. Pair Marked Scissors Faith Hope Charity Cross Anchor Heart
You didn’t like our shears last week. So we will try our most interesting pair of scissors this week. They are marked with a winged cherub holding an S and the scissors themselves have the intertwined symbols of a cross, anchor, and heart. These are generally accepted to stand for Faith, Hope, and Charity. I am not sure who or why they incorporated these in a pair of scissors. If anyone recognizes the maker’s touch marks I would appreciate hearing about it either during or after the auction. These are 5 ¾” long and 2” wide across the handles.

I don’t know the country of origin, or the rarity of the manufacturer, though I’ve never seen another pair marked this way. This is an old item that shows the wear of long term use.
