VINTAGE GERMAN SILVER METAL SEWING SCISSORS
Normal 0 These scissors have been in our family for many years. I did some research on German silver hallmarks to see if the one on these scissors could be found. Although these scissors are not silver but an alloy there were no exact matches but there were some similarities. Which normally proves nothing. These are most likely made of“German silver” This type of metal was developed in Germany in the late 1800's as a less expensive substitute for silver and is actually a white alloy containing copper. Zinc and nickel. They are 3.75 inches in length. The condition is very good for its age and material. There are some areas on the finger holes where the plating is flaking. The design is rather ornate for a basic scissors. They work well on cutting paper and material.

This auction is for a nice pair of antique scissors. The short blades indicate these are probably for sewing and embroidery. The handles have a nice flower and ribbon design. Are both stamped Empire Art Silver and are sterling. The blades are stamped Geb K. Germany and are probably not silver. The tips of the blades are slightly bent and the handles show age-related patina but these are otherwise in good condition. These measure slightly more than 4" long and 2 1/2" wide across both handles.

VINTAGE German SCISSORS - Straight Blade for Sewing/Embroidery PRETTY DESIGN
These small silver scissors with a straight blade have been in my antique scissor collection for nearly 30 years. I don't know their history or actual age but my understanding is that only straight blades like this one were meant for sewing/embroidery and those with curved blades were actually considered manicure/nail scissors. They measure 3 3/4" long and 1 3/4" wide and are in nice working condition. There is minor oxidation along the innner edge of the blades due to their age. Made In Germany is stamped on both sides. I was a quite an active seamstress for many years and I displayed my collection of antique scissors in an ornate frame on the wall in my sewing room. We're downsizing now and I'm letting go of many of my extraordinary possessions after 40 years of enthusiastic collecting and I'm hoping that someone ... morenew will enjoy the beauty of these antique scissors as much as I have.

Antique German Sewing Scissors Never Dull Brantford Cutlery Co. 4 3/8"
On offer are these antique German"Never Dull" sewing scissors made by the Brantford Cutlery Co. of Germany. These are pre-WW2. Probably around WW1 era. True to the name they still cut nicely. These are approx. 4 3/8" long and are in good, vintage condition as shown. The blades meet nicely and they do open and close easily. The little serrated wheel moves in and out and could probably use some WD40.please ask any questions you may have as all sales are final.

This is a vintage adjustable Keen Kutter sewing button hole scissors. It measures 4 3/4" and has a brass 1-6 size adjustable gauge. It was made in Gemany.
