All the scissors are in great used condition.The first pair(pics 2-4) shows a crane or stork form and measures 4 inches tall by 1.5" long from side to side at their handles. This pair shows some fairly light surface discolorations from use and from age.I also see surface discoloration on the inside of the scissors. When the pair is opened.The next pair in the collection(pics 5-9) measures 3.5" tall by almost 1.5" long from side to side. This auction is for a very neat pair of antique embroidery scissors in the shape of a bird or stork. The scissors measure almost 4 inches long. They are in excellent condition and still work beautifully. I believe they were gold plated. But some of the gold has rubbed off over time. The stamp inside the scissor(photo 4) says, H H Hill, Solingen, Germany" Sorry it is so hard to see. It is very clear with a magnifying glass. These were made in the early 1900's. It came inside of it, and fits beautifully, so I thought they went together, but the red leather case is marked, Firenze" so it is Italian made, not German. These beautiful little embroidery scissors are 3 ½ inches in length. With 1 ½ inch blades. The handles are stamped“STERLING” in two places and the blades are very sharp with an excellent‘bite’ They are not loose. There is slight oxidation on the blades but no pitting; this should clean up well. The sterling handles are festooned with flowers, and are in their original, as-found condition; I wiped them but did not polish. In as close to perfect condition as 100 year old, as-found scissors can be. These will be padded and in a box, inside a bubble envelope, for shipment unless you request something other. This is an antique sewing etui. It is gorgeous with many of its original tools. A receipt from the 1980s is included. It was purchased in England and declares it to be Russian Victorian. I have no other way of verification. I haven't been able to find anything like it other than this one. It seems to be a rare piece and a rare fund. It is in delicate condition but in good condition considering it's age. One side compartment has come loose but I will leave that to the buyer should they want to repair it. There are places for thread. Needles,pins, tools and all sorts of things. Three of the tool holders in the main compartment come loose and will no longer hold tools. Vintage Stork Sewing Scissors 1930's, Westfield Germany, RARE bird embroidery
I have a pair of Vintage stork/bird embroidery scissors. Dated to the early 1930's or before. This pair of scissors is marked Westfield MFG Germany, and was originally gold plated but the gold has worn down over the years. There is no other damage to the scissors, they are in original condition, i have not tried to polish them or alter them in any way. I have found similar scissors posted online, but i have not been able to find any from Westfield Germany, which leads me to believe they are slightly rarer then other types. Antique German Sterling Silver Embroidery Sewing Scissors Empire Art Geb K.
This auction is for a nice pair of antique scissors. The short blades indicate these are probably for sewing and embroidery. The handles have a nice flower and ribbon design. Are both stamped Empire Art Silver and are sterling. The blades are stamped Geb K. Germany and are probably not silver. The tips of the blades are slightly bent and the handles show age-related patina but these are otherwise in good condition. These measure slightly more than 4" long and 2 1/2" wide across both handles.

Antique F& B Sterling Silver Embroidery Sewing Scissors Floral Design Woven Carrier Antique F& B Sterling Silver Embroidery Scissors with Floral Motif. F&B stands for Foster& Bailey. An American silversmith based in Providence, R.I. that operated between 1878 and 1898. Elegant floral and scroll motif on sterling silver handles. The sterling silver handles are clearly marked"F& B Sterling" and the carbon steel blades are clearly marked"F&B" Very nice patina on the handles. Includes the woven carrier found with them. The carrier has two loops on the back designed to hang the scissors. The scissors are 4 1/4" long and the carrier is about 5" long. Condition: Very good overall. The blades are solid in the handles and the blades were tested on paper. Which they cut easily. There is some discoloration ... moreon the steel blades and a bit of surface rust. The woven holder is fragile and must be treated gently. There is some evidence that the tip of the holder was reattached at some point-see last picture-as I see a broken reed and the area is somewhat shiny. See high resolution photos for more!
