Up for auction are two antique tools with Sterling handles: a sewer's stiletto and a buttonhook. As to the stiletto. Sewers and quilters use(d) this antique sewing tool to un-sew stitches, rip seams with fine stitches, guide fabric under the foot of sewing machines, hold turned edges while ironing, and pull up the bobbin thread to the top of the fabric. Sorry I was not able to get better pictures of this item. It is marked Sterling on both sides of the handle. Also marked Pat D Apr-6-09. There is also a maker's mark which says Trade Mark with a horizontal capital H letter. Handle has a lot of nice detail. But does show wear and I have not tried to clean it. No dents. Approx. 6" long.
