Vintage. Antique Ornate Scissors and Thread Holder. The thread goes in the container with it feeding out the hole in the top. The scissors sit in the scabbord on the side. The thread holder is just shy of 3 1/2 inches with total height when scissors are sitting in the scabbord of about 4 3/4 inches. The scissors are 4 inches in length. It has a few"character" dents on the bottom which should be shown in the pictures. I have never seen another like it. Shipping will be in the lower 48 states. Others may email for estimated cost. Antique Scissors Holder Terra Cotta Shoe Original Blue Paint 1880's
I am selling a 40 year collection of antiques. All items are guaranteed antique and as described. Please check out my other auctions for more fine antiques. This auction is for a small terracotta blue and gold shoe and probably dates from the 1880s. It might seem like this is an unimportant item but I find it very interesting and because of its original blue paint it would probably fit in with a good country collection very well! This little shoe could hold a pair of scissors or perhaps was a pin cushion at any rate it would look nice anywhere and with any type of collection. The shoe is in nice original condition but does have two chips one large touched up flake on the heel. Picture 3 and a small edge chip in photo 7 this is the only damage found on this item there are no other chips cracks or repairs. Beautiful. Fantastic set of Victorian scissors and case or holder. The scissors handle and holder are in brass or bronze and have a very ornate Victorian Era decoration. Probably date to about 1880. Scissor blades are sharp, made from carbon steel and marked"GERMANY" Length of scissors in case is 8 1/2" Scissors alone are 7" Everything is in excellent condition with no damage, rust, etc. The blade holder is slightly loose fit on blades. Brass/bronze surfaces have great antique patina.
