Vintage Wasa Solingen Germany Crane Bird Sewing Scissors Large Size 6¾ inches
Here is a lovely large pair of vintage sewing scissors in the shape of a bird or crane with gold wash on the body and legs of the bird. The body of the bird is etched with feather details and the wings are silver colored so they stand out against the body. The scissors are 6 ¾ inches long and are stamped inside Made In Germany and WASA Solingen. The scissors have a bit of the gold wash worn off on the edges of the body and handles. Clauss Shears Antique Tailor Scissors 6" Blades
This auction includes a pair of antique Taylor scissors by Clauss. The blades measure around 6 inches. Shears measure 12 1/4 inches from tip of blades to tip of handle. They were tested by cutting a piece of towel and they had trouble in the middle of the blades. I think they may need to be sharpen. Vintage STORK SCISSORS Rare Larger Size! MEASURE 6 1/4" LONG
These rare larger sized stork scissors have been in my antique scissor collection for nearly 30 years. I don't know their origin or actual age but I've never seen another pair that is this larger size. They measure 6 1/4" long and 2" wide and are in working condition. The tip of the blades are bent but I don't think they were manufactured that way. I suspect they were used like a tool to pry something open which caused the blades to bend. There is also some tarnish along the blades due to their age. I can find no maker's mark. I was a quite an active seamstress for many years and I displayed my collection of antique scissors in an ornate frame on the wall in my sewing room.
