Antique Litho Victorian Sewing Needle Packets Tools Etui Necessaire Folding Box
WELCOME! I am offering a Fabulous Victorian Fold out Sewing Set Authentic 1870's red cardboard box. Sides have four pastoral lithograph sce nes. Lid has ornate paper sides and top is padded with a red& black polka dots silky material. Cardboard bottom has a rubbed spot and top has some needle mark s on the material. The lid is attached to one side and hinges open. Inside opens up to eight hinged sections& one lidded section in the center. The sections have matching red& black polka dot material with red leatherette loops to hol d the vari ou s needle packets and tools. The center section has a remov able padded polka dot lid which rev eals a space for the tape m easure& thimble. The inside has no issues and looks like it was never used. It measures approx. 3" x 3" x 4 1/4" when closed& 1 0 3/4" ... morex 13" when open. The Box is in overall Very Good Condition with minor noted wear. Please view all photos. Two vintage Sewing Needle Packets - Nickel Plated with Gold Eye
These two packet of sewing needles still have some needles in them. Would date these in the 50's- 60's. The green one is in the shape of a paint can advertising Gambles(Mpls MN) Dept. Store Home Guard Paint. Was given as a complimentary gift when buying paint. No date- but says made in Japan. The Sewing Club packet- with ladies sewing does not have a date or manufacturer on it. These are all nickel plated rust proof needles with gold eyes. There are 37 needles in the green packet- no threader. There are 36 needles in the Sewing Club packet- no threader. The bottom and sides have a shiny metallic surface that is printed with a checkerboard pattern. The top says"Metallic Pin Box- W. Avery& Son. Redditch" Included are 2 packets of needles, also from Avery& Son. Each of these is marked"Patent Granted January 14, 1853" and they still have needles. The condition of the box is excellent with no dents. Loss or damage and it has the original metallic finish. It measures 1 3/8" by 7/8" and closes securely. Needlebook7 Antique Hand Stitched Bristol Board Needle Book English* Circa 1870 This nice little antique needle book was made by a girl or lady in the mid Victorian era. It is stitched in burgundy colored silk. It folds out into 5 sections and each has a perforated paper pocket to hold needles of the marked size(stitched in cross stitch) This paper was called Bristol Board by the Victorians. The reverse also has Bristol board panels that have a star design and border in cross stitch. A matching set of needle packets by Reading& Turner are in the pockets and they are the correct sizes for each pocket. I think they are the original needles. It's in excellent condition with no loss or other damage. It measures 8 1/2" long stretched out(not counting the ribbon ties) It is 1 1/2" by 2 1/4" when folded up. Patented August 11th. 1914, No. 1106773" Czechoslovakia There is another patent date on the inside also.Patent No. 1088057, Feb. 24, 1914. Made in Czechoslovakia" Full of needles. Another one is marked"The Army and Navy Needle Book" I believe it is from WWll era? Contains only 4 needles. The newest one of the bunch came from an Eisner store.must have been a freebie? 3 packs in all. Rocket ship is so neat. Colors are great. R ocket ship art deco one has a piece torn off of top left back. Have part of the piece. Multicolor foil inside has some wear. Measures about 6 inches long by 4 inches high. On front the top right is bent. Sweetheart needle book is in good condition. The German Shepherd is another neat one, measures 4 1/4 inches high by 2 inches wide. Great condition. Not all the needles are in them. No reserve, no return. Thank you.
