Wonderful mother of pearl sewing etui. French,palais royal, approx 1860, measuring 14 cm. Very good conditions. Just a very tiny hole at the mop, otherwise very good, open and close very well, without the tools. I was always going to complete but never got around to it. It is time to give someone else the enjoyment of hunting for the tools and completing the set. Good luck.

FINE VICTORIAN ANTIQUE SEWING EGG NEEDLE THREAD& THIMBLE CASE 1850 tools bobbin This is a beautiful VICTORIAN ANTIQUE SEWING EGG or NEEDLE THREAD and THIMBLE CASE In my estimation it dates from around the mid 19th Century. Circa 1870-1880, but please make up your own mind about this. The needle case is made from solid brass in the form of an egg. It measures approx 1 3/4 inches(45mm) long. And opens up to reveal a thimble, a double spool of thread, and a central needle case. It is in good original condition with very light wear consistent with its great age. But no damage or repairs(see photos) This is a fine example of its type and it would make a great addition to any collection. DollEtui2 RARE Antique Doll's Glass Egg Etui& Sewing Tools French* Circa 1860 This very rare miniature sewing etui has been created inside of a blue glass egg with gilded mounts. Stand and handle. The top has a lift out blue velvet'rack' that is pierced to hold the miniature tools. The tiny bone* and gilded tools include a thimble, needle case, scissors and stiletto. The scissors measure 7/8" long and open and close. All of the tools are in excellent condition with no chips or other damage. The thimble is 1/4 high and the needle case is 3/4" long. It is carved with a joint but doesn't actually open. The stiletto has the original sharp point and is 7/8" long. The condition of the egg is outstanding with no chips or cracks and the ormolu holder is perfect. The hinge is strong and original and it snaps closed ... moreproperly. The color is slightly lighter and a little more aqua than it appears in my pictures. The base measures 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" and it is 5" high. The glass egg is 1 1/2" in diameter.
