For sale: Antique vintage Figural Celluloid Tape Measure molded Fruit Basket. The piece is small measuring just under 1 3/4 inches wide. The tape has ... moresome wear but still has the end ring. The cloth is worn and some numbers are hard to read. There is color fading and age wear. If you look close you can see a ling that goes all the way around the basket part. This looks like a crack. I don't believe it is. It is not cracked and you can not like put a finger nail into it. It's more tight and sealed. I think it was a mold flaw or maybe a seem where the tape went inside. Thanks. Meg

Very rare and unusual cloth measuring tape advertising Chas. E. Fogg Company and their Rip Van Winkle line of bedding. Sold at S.B. Emery Co. Sanford, Maine. The tape extends out about two feet and retracts as it should, though somewhat slowly. Exterior is as beautiful as the photos suggest. The really unique thing about this piece of advertising is the fact that on the reverse is Joseph Jefferson, a famous stage actor(and the original Portland theater's namesake) who's signature character was, you guessed it, Rip Van Winkle. The photo shows Mr. Jefferson drinking a beer from a mug along with a facsimile signature. The steel measure was made by Parisian Novelty, Chicago and measures 1 1/2" in diameter.

Here are three measuring tapes. The two brass-colored ones are both by Lufkin. Each has a 50 ft cloth or fabric tape and both are in good working order.
