C. K. KIRKPATRICK SPEC. CO. Which is now SUEDE PRODUCTS. LLC. I googled the CKK name and came up with the Suede Products website that gives a brief but quite interesting history of their company. Clifford Kirkpatrick started his company in the early 1930's. He had briefly worked at a dry cleaners and caught on really fast about the procedures. He refined the process and started a door to door business to the cleaning companies to sell his equipment. Specialty chemicals and procedures. One of his companies was in Los Angeles, but he was even known for his cleaning products and equipment internationally. At one time, he changed the name to Kirk's Suede-Life. He sold the business to Suede Products. LLC in 1960. After trying to do a little more research. I am beginning to think that this was an actual tool that was used in the dry cleaning/ ... morewetcleaning process in the cleaners industry. I am really not sure. Whatever it is, it is really cool looking. It measures 28 3/4" long. The handles are wood and the blades are wood. There are 2 small holes in the blades but I am not sure why. The end of the blades are worn and broken off maybe an inch. This piece came from an estate where there were many cool primitive items. As with all of my auctions. I think the hoop pieces are from one set and the anchor base is from and older set. A bit of paper or tape wrapped around the plug would make it tighter and fit well for use. Function/Use: Widely used in Europe by women who ran cottage(at-home) businesses. Much better than the simple hoops that you must hold in your hand. GREAT Antique Tiny Wooden Barrel Sewing Tape Measure w/ Turn Knob Top
This is one of my favorite very old sewing tape measure! It is in the shape of a tiny wooden barrel; it is only 1-inch tall to the top of the barrel and 1 1/2 inches tall to the top of the carved knob. The bottom diameter is 3/4-inch. There is a small button sewn to the end of the tape to pull it out- probably taking the place of a worn off metal end. The tape has 37 marked inches on it. Then the top knob can be turned to wind it back inside the barrel. No markings of maker anywhere. Really a sweet antique Victorian sewing piece! Buyer pays 3.50 flat rate first class mail.

Antique Wooden MEASURING TAPE REEL - Treen - 24" Sewing
This little measuring tape is very old. It is made of wood(with a wonderful. Warm patina) The arm is metal(brass? and there is a little black knob handle at top. Overall condition is good. There may be a little chip below where the tape comes out. The tape is 24 inches long. And still is clearly marked, save for the first few inches of the tape which is damaged. Please see the photos to see all the details. It measures 3/4 inches tall(minus the handle) or about 1 1/8" inches tall with the handle. Its diameter is 1 inch. There is a crack on one of the egg pices which I tried to show in the picture. On that same piece there are two small chips. but when you screw it together. You can make the good side only show. The wood is beautiful and shiny with dark striations throughout. A wonderful addition to your collection.

THIS AUC TION IS FOR ONE ANTIQUE VICTORIAN DARNING TOOL! Rare and Adorable Victorian Double- Sided. Multi-purpose Glove& Stocking or Hose Darning Tool. May also have been used as a glove or slipper stretcher. These came in a pair, but they are very handy and we began using one to, well, darn and mend lace. The Darning tool is two-sided. One side appears to be for darning gloves and the other for shoes or sleeves. B eautifully crafted& lovely! The smaller wooden darning tips measure approx. 1 inch x 1.5 inch and is cylindrical. The triangular darning tool measures approx. 1 3/4 x 2 1/4 and is flat bottomed. Both darning tips have been sanded& painted pink so to not snag or damage gloves. Stockings or lace. The metal connecting the two wooden tools feels like steel or aluminium, and has also been painted pink. It is slightly flexible, ... morebut not bendable. They are slightly curved either th r ough use or storage. The larger sides are covered with pink& green striped heavyweight cotton or linen muslin fabric. Which has been padded around the triangular darning tool( or stretcher) It is tied on with a grosgrain ribbon, and easily removed. We imagine that these may have been repurposed in the Edwardian Era as a store display, as they are in wonderful condition, with only a wee bit of yellowing that is hardly apparent. The striped canvass is adorable. Very feminine S ewing& Darn ing Acces sory that would look lovely besi de an Antique Pin Cushion. Condition: Excellent mus eum condition. They do not look brand new. Bu t they do not look used either. Th ere are no chips. But the paint on the t op wooden tips is thinner in some places and is either worn off o r never had coated t h e sides of the metal. The fabric is in lovely condition and the stripes were even sewn together to match up pe rfectly. Someone took an immense amount of care and love to make these. This auction is for a unique shaker sewing item. It is very well constructed made from maple and stamped#9. It measures 4 1/2 L by 3" Wide. Its some sort of mini loom for perhaps labels or book marks. But I believe it was some sort of bow maker, to make bows for sewing baskets. It goes back and forth in two directions one side having a hand carved wooden wheel. it has center tin holders and 3 small retractracable eyelets inside top handle. The first(top photos) belonged to my great grandmother on my father's side of the family. It came with an old desk that I inherited from my grandmother over forty years ago. It measures about 6" long overall with 3-1/4" of that being the gloss black painted handle. I think the egg portion is painted wood but it sort of feels and looks like it may have been dipped in a hard. Plaster-like material. The egg also has some staining as if it ... morewas hung upside down and the handle paint ran onto it. It could also have been accidentally stained by some kind of dye(possibly laundry bluing etc. However the stain got there it looks quite attractive and unique. There is a small amount of wear on the handle as one would expect. The second egg I found in an old truck. About 20 years ago, which contained items once owned by a great aunt and uncle from my mother's side of the family and is comparatively quite primitive in appearance! It measures about 6-3/8" long overall with 3-1/2" of that being the handle. It appears to have been originally painted a light brown color. Most of which was worn away long ago! It's interesting in that it has been repaired. It's impossible to know whether it was patched by the original maker or by a subsequent owner. The paint extends partially over the repair which makes me think the maker painted over it thinking nobody would ever know!
