Vintage 1800's 16" Scissors Shears Dressmaking Tailor No Rsv Antique Industrial?
This auction is for a really great pair of antique scissors. They measure about 16 inches in length! They have what appears to be a brass hinge. We've seen others that were virtually identical listed as being faintly marked from 1845& made in New York. We can't find a stamp mark on ours. But believe that it could be there but due to age we can't see it. We were tempted to try to polish them up to see if we could find anything, but don't want to ruin the lovely patina these have. The blades are still straight and sharp and they cut very well. These are very big and very heavy! Please see pictures as they are part of the description. This is an Antique Singer Sewing Machine Oil Can with Clip. These were typically found in Singer bent wood cases and some older electric cabinets. It measures 2" diameter and 3" tall. It has a good antique finish and is not dented. There are some very light scratches. The original cork seal is missing. But I found a new rubber O-ring for it! The bottom has faint surface rust around the lip. The paint on the clip has scratches and wear. It comes with both original mounting screws. The item for auction is an Antique/Vintage“Sewing Bird” Seamstress’ Clamp and Pin Cushion. The item was acquired less the newly installed pin cushion by a local seamstress in the family. The steel tool is authentic and not a reproduction. The item features a clamp to fasten to a work table with a maximum thickness of 7/8” and also has another clamp in the bird’s beak that is designed to hold fabric. See last photo. These items were also referred to as a“seamstress’ third hand” as it allowed the seamstress to use both hands freely for sewing. The item measures 3 1/2” wide by 6” long. The tension spring for the upper clamp is extremely strong. For sale: Antique vintage Figural Celluloid Tape Measure molded Fruit Basket. The piece is small measuring just under 1 3/4 inches wide. The tape has some wear but still has the end ring. The cloth is worn and some numbers are hard to read. There is color fading and age wear. If you look close you can see a ling that goes all the way around the basket part. This looks like a crack. I don't believe it is. It is not cracked and you can not like put a finger nail into it. It's more tight and sealed. I think it was a mold flaw or maybe a seem where the tape went inside. Thanks. Meg

This auction is for a very neat pair of antique embroidery scissors in the shape of a bird or stork. The scissors measure almost 4 inches long. They are in excellent condition and still work beautifully. I believe they were gold plated. But some of the gold has rubbed off over time. The stamp inside the scissor(photo 4) says, H H Hill, Solingen, Germany" Sorry it is so hard to see. It is very clear with a magnifying glass. These were made in the early 1900's. RARE Antique Vintage Gilded Brass Carriage Coronation Coach Tape Measure WOW!
Little antique coronation coach tape measure. Circa 1870-1900. Gilded brass with yellowish tinted windows. The crank on top turns to retract the tape. Tape is all original. But ripped 1 inch in. Extra inch of tape will be included for repair. The metal end of tape is missing. So there is nothing to prevent full retraction of tape inside coach. One of the t wo window pieces have a crack/missing piece. This particular carriage doesn't have the mermaid/boy on the back. But I understand some didn't come with him. Rear wheel assembly slightly bent. I'll leave that to buyer. This is a great find! VERY RARE. Shown on page 132 of the book The Illustrated History of Needlework Tools. The handle is 4" x 4" and the cutting blade is 6" These are made to fit the right hand. Made of steel with a brass bolt and bushing. Just below the fulcrum is the makers mark. It reads: H. This item up for sale is over 100 years old! It was used as a pinking tool the way we use pinking shears today. Along with tool came a note rolled up inside which said the following: when mama was 20 years old she would take a dress form under her arm and walk sometimes miles to sew for some family. Many times it would be a week or two that she would stay in the home sewing for all the family. This is what they used then as we use pinking today. The dress was cut out and sewed then with a hammer this was used down the seams. 1970. This is 80 years old. over(backside now) Mamma's name was then Mellie Jane Younkin.
