Description Antique Victorian carved coquilla nut thimble holder. Which has been produced in the form of an acorn and unscrews to the middle to open, and would have stored a thimble at one time. AGE The holder dates to the middle of the 19th century. Circa 1870. SIZE The holder measure 4.8cm(2" high and 3.5cm(1½" in diameter. CONDITION The case is in good condition for considerable age. Lid has ornate paper sides and top is padded with a red& black polka dots silky material. Cardboard bottom has a rubbed spot and top has some needle mark s on the material. The lid is attached to one side and hinges open. Inside opens up to eight hinged sections& one lidded section in the center. All the scissors are in great used condition.The first pair(pics 2-4) shows a crane or stork form and measures 4 inches tall by 1.5" long from side to side at their handles. This pair shows some fairly light surface discolorations from use and from age.I also see surface discoloration on the inside of the scissors. When the pair is opened.The next pair in the collection(pics 5-9) measures 3.5" tall by almost 1.5" long from side to side. A little Company History: Founded in 1872. The Newark, New Jersey, firm of Unger Brothers first established a trade in gold jewelry. It soon became better known for its silver production—which included hollowware—and jewelry. The Unger Bros was one of the most creative and premier manufacturers of Art Nouveau sterling silver items in the United States. The company's most popular lines were dresser sets and jewelry items decorated with fantastic Art Nouveau designs incorporating flowers, images of the heads/faces of women, ocean waves, as well as flowers The Unger family immigrated from Germany ... morein 1849. And changed the surname to Unger. The oldest son, Herman, established a jewelry business and began the manufacture of sterling silver items in 1878. In time all five sons joined the company. Little antique coronation coach tape measure. Circa 1870-1900. Gilded brass with yellowish tinted windows. The crank on top turns to retract the tape. Tape is all original. But ripped 1 inch in. Extra inch of tape will be included for repair. The metal end of tape is missing, so there is nothing to prevent full retraction of tape inside coach. I do not know what the wood is, but it has a very fine grain, lustrous patina and the screw action is very smooth. It was almost certainly intended as a sewing etui, but in France these elaborate items were sometimes used to hold a rosary. Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Handled Embroidery Sewing Scissors Perfect!
These beautiful little embroidery scissors are 3 ½ inches in length. With 1 ½ inch blades. The handles are stamped“STERLING” in two places and the blades are very sharp with an excellent‘bite’ They are not loose. There is slight oxidation on the blades but no pitting; this should clean up well. The sterling handles are festooned with flowers, and are in their original, as-found condition; I wiped them but did not polish. In as close to perfect condition as 100 year old, as-found scissors can be. These will be padded and in a box, inside a bubble envelope, for shipment unless you request something other. Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Sewing Seam Gauge Lady's Profile Circa 1900
This is a lovely Victorian Sterling Silver Seam Gauge Sewing Tool with a profile of a beautiful lady with flowing hair and flowers. Handed down from Great-grandmother and cherished in the well-used sewing box. This seam gauge was produced prior to the Patent date of June 8, 1903. Similar sterling silver gauges by the same maker that are marked 1903 are also numbered 0657, this gauge which is older has an earlier number of 0653. This gauge is in excellent condition, the numbers and measurements are clear and well-defined, the sliding clasp which holds the measurement, works perfectly, there are no noticeable scratches on the gauge. The gauge is hallmarked on the back and says"925 Fine Sterling" and is marked with number 0653. The gauge measures 4 1/4" long and 3/8" wide.

I am not sure exactly what it may be called but it has what seems to be a small edged blade attached to a Victorian style handle.
