The largest one measures approx. 2 3/4 inch l ong. And has a slit that is 3/4 inches wide. The medium one is approx. 2 5/8 inch long. And the slit is approx, 3/8 inch wide. These beautiful little embroidery scissors are 3 ½ inches in length. With 1 ½ inch blades. The handles are stamped“STERLING” in two places and the blades are very sharp with an excellent‘bite’ They are not loose. There is slight oxidation on the blades but no pitting; this should clean up well. The sterling handles are festooned with flowers, and are in their original, as-found condition; I wiped them but did not polish. Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Sewing Seam Gauge Lady's Profile Circa 1900
This is a lovely Victorian Sterling Silver Seam Gauge Sewing Tool with a profile of a beautiful lady with flowing hair and flowers. Handed down from Great-grandmother and cherished in the well-used sewing box. This seam gauge was produced prior to the Patent date of June 8, 1903. Similar sterling silver gauges by the same maker that are marked 1903 are also numbered 0657, this gauge which is older has an earlier number of 0653. This gauge is in excellent condition, the numbers and measurements are clear and well-defined, the sliding clasp which holds the measurement, works perfectly, there are no noticeable scratches on the gauge. The gauge is hallmarked on the back and says"925 Fine Sterling" and is marked with number 0653. The gauge measures 4 1/4" long and 3/8" wide.

Antique French Victorian solid sterling silver sewing etui, or kit, resplendent with lovely florals, and stippling. Circa mid 1800s, this divine needlework kit includes scissors, needle case, bodkin with wax cup, thimble, and a stiletto. During the Victorian age, the bodkin was used to lace corsets. Some older pieces contained a little"cup" at the end that was used to collect ear wax, which was then used to coat the ends of the corset strings to aid in tying them with ease. All of the pieces are sterling silver. Bearing the head of the boar mark used in France to denote pure 800/1000 sterling. The scissors are sharp, and cut well. You are looking at/ bidding on an antique rare tortoise shell& sterling silver cameo chatelaine. Probably from the Victorian era, 1837-1901. Chatelaines were waist jewelry worn by the mistress of the house, to help with her household duties. Originating in medieval times, chatelaines had a number of chains suspended from a central clip, with different items attached to end of each such as scissors, thimble, pin cushion, etc. This one is tortoise shell with a carved cameo, and a sterling silver clip on the back. Three sewing items are suspended from the chains.a thimble case(I put a sterling silver thimble in it.it is NOT original to the chatelaine) a sterling silver flask for sewing needle oil, and a round revolving pincushion. I have NOT opened up the flask.the lid does not open readily and I am not going to force it. This auction is for an absolutely fabulous pair of antique sewing scissors. These would be from the late 1800's. When folded they collapse into a neat compact piece measuring 2 1/4 inches long. They open to full working scissors at almost 4 inches long. The handles are sterling. One side is marked sterling; the other has initials which are quite faded at this point. The blade near the screw says PATENT on one side. And Germany on the other. They really don't get better than this. Please feel free to ask any questions.

This auction is for a nice pair of antique sewing scissors. The handles are both stamped Sterling and have a delicate floral design. The blades are stamped WHS Co and Germany and are probably not sterling. Measures 4" in length. The tip of the blades are a little dinged. The handles are loose and the scissors show a lot of age-related patina, but these are otherwise nice and fully intact.

For your consideration is this antique sewing set in a violin case shaped box circa 1905. The case is covered in green velvet with a green velvet and satin lined interior. This sewing kit includes a pair of scissors marked Sheffield. A sterling silver thimble with the English hallmarks for Birmingham, a sterling silver handled pick and file, also hallmarked for Birmingham and carrying a date letter of a lowercase k for the year of 1905. Condition: Very Fine! Case is scuffed and shows very minimal wear and is very good for its age. Interior fabric and tools are in very good condition. There are some dings to the handles of the tools.
