ANTIQUE FRENCH VICTORIAN CARVED WOOD"EGG" SEWING ETUI Exquisitely carved treen sewing etui. Late 19th century. I do not know what the wood is, but it has a very fine grain, lustrous patina and the screw action is very smooth. It was almost certainly intended as a sewing etui, but in France these elaborate items were sometimes used to hold a rosary. It measures approximately 3 inches(8cm) high and is 1-3/4 inches(4cm) in diameter. Condition is excellent. Apart from a slight chip on the inside of the etui. Shipping: Well packed. The handles are stamped“STERLING” in two places and the blades are very sharp with an excellent‘bite’ They are not loose. There is slight oxidation on the blades but no pitting; this should clean up well. Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Sewing Seam Gauge Lady's Profile Circa 1900
This is a lovely Victorian Sterling Silver Seam Gauge Sewing Tool with a profile of a beautiful lady with flowing hair and flowers. Handed down from Great-grandmother and cherished in the well-used sewing box. This seam gauge was produced prior to the Patent date of June 8, 1903. Similar sterling silver gauges by the same maker that are marked 1903 are also numbered 0657, this gauge which is older has an earlier number of 0653. This gauge is in excellent condition, the numbers and measurements are clear and well-defined, the sliding clasp which holds the measurement, works perfectly, there are no noticeable scratches on the gauge. The gauge is hallmarked on the back and says"925 Fine Sterling" and is marked with number 0653. The gauge measures 4 1/4" long and 3/8" wide.

This is a very special antique sewing bird or clamp The pin cushion holder is a beautiful shell. Cut steel for the cloth holder and clamp, and a gutta percha material for the spool of thread holder. It measures 4 1/2 inches long. The next two are bobbin cases. The tops unscrew but not sure if the bottoms had anything. There is threading which allows for something to be attached. Antique French Victorian solid sterling silver sewing etui, or kit, resplendent with lovely florals, and stippling. Circa mid 1800s, this divine needlework kit includes scissors, needle case, bodkin with wax cup, thimble, and a stiletto. During the Victorian age, the bodkin was used to lace corsets. Some older pieces contained a little"cup" at the end that was used to collect ear wax, which was then used to coat the ends of the corset strings to aid in tying them with ease. All of the pieces are sterling silver. Bearing the head of the boar mark used in France to denote pure 800/1000 sterling. The scissors are sharp, and cut well. Antique Victorian Cased Sewing Set Needlework Tools Box Kit Green Velvet Etui
For your consideration is this beautiful antique English made sewing set. Circa 1900. The case is covered in dark green gilded leather with a green velvet and satin interior. This cased sewing kit includes many tools that would aid in different areas of needlework. This set includes a pair of reproduction gilded bird scissors, a tiny button hook, an ox bone handled stiletto, an ox bone handled button hook, an ox bone handled lace crochet hook, a gilded bodkin, 2 Redditich needle packets. The case is marked"Melliship& Harris. Westbourne Grove" Condition: Very Good! Case is scuffed. But only the tiniest bit along the edges. Interior fabric is vibrant, though has degraded a bit around the hinges. The box is hinged with two trips of leather, one on the inside and one of the outside and the outside one is split halfway. Tools are ... morein useable condition. There is some rust on the button hooks. A stitch has come undone on the velvet strip that holds the two top tools in place. It could do well to be restitched, but I will leave that up to you. The rest of the strip is sewn well and holds the tools firmly in place. Measurements: 8.25 by 3.75 inches. 1 inch tall.

ANTIQUE VICTORIAN TUNBRIDGE WARE PIN CUSHION-SEWING TOOLS
This is a fine example of tunbridge ware as a pin cushion. The old pins have been into the edging a long time and show exactly with this small item was made for originally. It measures about 1 and 5/8 inches across. The tiny pieces of wood are in place and the pin cushion is in excellent condition. See photos.

For your consideration is this antique sewing set in a golden yellow velvet covered case circa 1890s. The case is covered in worn velvet with an burgundy satin lined interior. This kit was made by Peter's Brothers of New York and is all original. The scissors. Pocket knife, and case are all marked Peters Brothers. This sewing kit includes the following tools; a set of scissors, a bodkin, and the following ox bone handled tools; button hook, a handled stiletto, and a pocketknife. Condition: Very Fine. There is a crack on the handle of the knife and stiletto. The stiletto has the initials"AI" carved in it. The velvet is worn. Measurements: 4.5 inches by 2.25 inches and 1 inch tall.
