For sale: Antique vintage Figural Celluloid Tape Measure molded Fruit Basket. The piece is small measuring just under 1 3/4 inches wide. The tape has ... moresome wear but still has the end ring. The cloth is worn and some numbers are hard to read. There is color fading and age wear. If you look close you can see a ling that goes all the way around the basket part. This looks like a crack. This is a beautiful antique material(maybe silk ribbon? that is just a guess) measuring tape. It says on the end Four Season Floral Tape Measure. Patented July 6th. 1891(or maybe 1 897. But it does loo k to me like 1891) It has beautiful flowers printed representing the 4 seasons. Has a tear on one end of the tape measure near the bar at the end. Selling an antique metal sewing measuring tape. This is a metal pig or boar.It measures 2 1/2" long by 1 1/2" across. It has a yellow cloth tape on the inside. T h e tape goes back in easily. I find no marking s on the pig. It was found in an old sewing box in an estate.

Fully pulled out the last number is 59 but since the case is just over 1 inch that makes 60. Well used with numbers on first foot of tape a little worn. Also cloth on first foot of tape is a little less wide than the rest from use. Upper numbers brighter. Wind mechanism working properly. No maker's marks on case. Nice antique sewing measure. Charming antique. Heavy celluloid, BLACK Americana. Figural head tape measure. Circa 1920, made in Germany. Measuring just under 2 inches(1 3/4" high she has chubby features including full cheeks. Small mouth, molded and painted eyebrows and cute intaglio, side-glancing eyes. She also has lots of dark brown, molded and painted curly hair peaking out from her wrapped and tied red bandana as wll as a striped red and white shirt collar. This tape is found on page 121 of Arbittier& Morphy's Collecting Figural Tape Measures. According to the authors. This is a value index 4 on their scale of 5. This brass tape measure is in good condition and has a beautiful patina. The brass brass building is all there. Including the stairs up the back of the building. There are no cracks or breaks. The tape is mechanical. The water wheel moves when you pull the tape out and retracts when the tape releases. The tape is tan silk. Inches are marked on both sides. The silk is all there. Tape Antique Vegetable Ivory Tape Measure English* Circa 1890 This nice little antique tape measure is carved of vegetable ivory. It has a pierced design around the top and sits on a scalloped& pierced pedestal foot. The silk tape is marked in inches and i t winds in by turning the bone* spindle on top. The tape is complete and original. The condition is excellent with no cracks or other damage. There is a nick in the base. Above the pedestal(see 2nd photo) but it's a flaw in the veg ivory rather than damage. I t measures 2 1/8" high and the base is slightly over 1" in diameter. This item is made of bone from a domestic cow(bovine) and not from an endangered species. Vegetable ivory comes from the corozo or tagua nut of a South American palm tree and was a favorite with the Victorians. It has the hardness and texture of ... moreivory and a warm honey color. For sale: Antique vintage Figural Celluloid Tape Measure molded Fruit Basket. The piece is small measuring just under 1 3/4 inches wide. The tape has some wear but still has the end ring. The cloth is worn and some numbers are hard to read. There is color fading and age wear. If you look close you can see a ling that goes all the way around the basket part. This looks like a crack. I don't believe it is. It is not cracked and you can not like put a finger nail into it. It's more tight and sealed. I think it was a mold flaw or maybe a seem where the tape went inside. Thanks. Meg

Great rare vintage figural sewing tape measure. This bird- Shaped holder looks like a kookaburra. It has a cloth tape measure with a round metal end that comes out from beneath the bird’s tail. The kookaburra has quite a lot of detail in his painted metal body. The piece has some paint loss(see our pictures. On the underneath part of the tail you can make out faintly“ Germany” embossed in the metal. He stand proudly at 2 ¾ inches tall and is about 3 ½ inches from beak to tail. In this listing I am offering a great garage find. Its an old antique reel tape measure that has a side wind up lever. It appears to be cased in leather and stitched at the sides. But is a hard circle disc. It is 3 3/8" in diameter and 3/4" thick. The tape itself is steel and has areas of rust and wear. The tape comes out great although I only dared pull out 6' of it.plus knowing I'd have to hand wind what I pulled out: Which did wind up smoothly as well. The numbers are not written as they are on todays tape measures. At the foot measure it has a small number on top and then it starts from 1 again ex. 5' small 6 on top) and the next inch is labeled 1"rather than the newer ones which say 61" This is hard to explain without seeing a photo so there are photos of the numerics included. It has a silk ribbon tape marked in inches which retracts by turning the finial on top. The sides have little carved straps held in place with brass studs. The straps have a nice grain pattern and are completely intact. It is in excellent working condition with no chips. Cracks or other damage. Rare Sterling Silver Antique Advertising Tape w/ original Box, NR
We are pleased to present for auction this antique sterling silver Advertising Tape Measure. Front says Compliments of the United Shoe Machinery Company. The other side says USMC, the rim says, Everything From A Tack to A Full Factory Equipment. Tape Measure is in excellent condition, working great! Is Marked Sterling on front with USMC initials. GREAT Antique Tiny Wooden Barrel Sewing Tape Measure w/ Turn Knob Top
This is one of my favorite very old sewing tape measure! It is in the shape of a tiny wooden barrel; it is only 1-inch tall to the top of the barrel and 1 1/2 inches tall to the top of the carved knob. The bottom diameter is 3/4-inch. There is a small button sewn to the end of the tape to pull it out- probably taking the place of a worn off metal end. The tape has 37 marked inches on it. Then the top knob can be turned to wind it back inside the barrel. No markings of maker anywhere. Really a sweet antique Victorian sewing piece! Buyer pays 3.50 flat rate first class mail.
