Antique Vintage Singer Sewing Machine Bent Wood Case Metal Oil Can Round + Clip
This is an Antique Singer Sewing Machine Oil Can with Clip. These were typically found in Singer bent wood cases and some older electric cabinets. It measures 2" diameter and 3" tall. It has a good antique finish and is not dented. There are some very light scratches. The original cork seal is missing. But I found a new rubber O-ring for it! The bottom has faint surface rust around the lip. The paint on the clip has scratches and wear. It comes with both original mounting screws. The condition is good with most of the original gloss black paint present, some rust and pitting on the screwdriver blade, and the patent date is easily read. Victorian Antique sewing machine tools carved Chinese spool case thread cutter
Offered for your consideration is this neat lot of antique sewing tools. Dating back to the late 1800's. All are finely carved and are really unique. One is a thread cutting knife. It measures 4 1/2 inches long. The next two are bobbin cases. The tops unscrew but not sure if the bottoms had anything. There is threading which allows for something to be attached. One measures 3 7/8 inches and the other is 3 1/2 inches long. Not sure what the last tool is but it looks like thread is wound on it? That measures 5 inches long. A nice set for your collection. antique lady's sewing scissors and antique old delicate sewing machine knife!
The knife has a handle about 3 and 1/4" long with a blade about 5 and 1/4" long. Very delicate to use. The handle has warped a little away from the blade but is still intact. 8 and 1/2" long total. Possibly a cherry wood handle I'm not sure. The scissors are about as old as a normal looking pair of scissors gets from what I have seen. They are 4 and 1/8" long. The blades are 1 and 1/4" long. I did not cut anything with them but I'm sure they work. They look worn and are mostly for display at their age, same with the knife. From the way they are marked they look like they both might have been made by hand by a blacksmith, I can't tell. The knife shows wear from sharpening over years of use, that is why it is rounded in the middle. The next to last picture shows the markings on the scissors the best. These ... morebelonged to a very old lady who had these in her possession along with the other pair of Kabar scissors I am selling right now that are probably from the mid 20th century? The pleater is made of wood with 53 snap down steel strips to provide the pleating. The original paper label is in place in nearly perfect condition and the entire pleater is in complete excellent working condition. The device measures app. 15" long, 10" wide, 1" thick. Antique GEM Cast Iron Fabric Cutting Pinking Machine Old Sewing Tool c1880s Description: This is an antique cast iron clamp-on Gem pinking machine dating. I would guess, to the late 1800s. It was used in the home and in general stores to cut a sawtooth edge on fabrics. Cloth edges that are unfinished will easily fray, the weave becoming undone and threads pulling out easily. The sawtooth pattern does not prevent the fraying but limits the length of the frayed thread and thus minimizes damage. The machine is roughly 5 inches wide and 6 inches long to the bottom of the clamp screw. It weighs 2 pounds 8 ounces. It will be double boxed and have a shipping weight of 3 pounds 8 ounces.
