There are 5 small steel cup sewing buttons made in thee late 1800's. Used primarily in women's fashions. Each of these is unique in some way. The bottom row. Left, has glass beads woven into the center of the button, and the metal has been painted black, or japanned. Next bottom center has a carved pearl center with nice steel cut center escutcheon. Third to right. Has a pewter center, and a blued steel rim which is a little hard to see in the scan. Top row left. A set of 9 small faceted steels on a gilded metal raised base. Top row right. A sweet little slightly convex button with several small faceted cut steels, and a nice border. Measure from 3/8" to 11/16" All NBS smalls.

ANTIQUE BUCKLE STEEL CUTS BIRD LAUREL LEAVES FLOWERS VICTORIAN
Gorgeous Antique/Vintage Buckle 2 5/8" inches x 1 7/8" inches In a bird. Laurel leaf, flowers design with a sparkling row of steel cuts at the bottom. The design is really wonderful! It looks like a combinations of metals; brass. Silver and gold in color and the steel cuts are that pretty gun metal silver. I could not quite capture their reflective sparkle ~ they do have a nice sparkle. They also have some dark spots. Mostly around their edges. The three prongs that you usually see on these old buckles are no longer there. However, it does have a pronged piece in the back and a slider bar in the middle.
