Charming antique. Heavy celluloid, BLACK Americana. Figural head tape measure. Circa 1920, made in Germany. Measuring just under 2 inches(1 3/4" high she has chubby features including full cheeks. Small mouth, molded and painted eyebrows and cute intaglio, side-glancing eyes. For sale: Antique vintage Figural Celluloid Tape Measure molded Fruit Basket. The piece is small measuring just under 1 3/4 inches wide. The tape has some wear but still has the end ring. The cloth is worn and some numbers are hard to read. There is color fading and age wear. If you look close you can see a ling that goes all the way around the basket part. This looks like a crack. I don't believe it is. It is not cracked and you can not like put a finger nail into it. It's more tight and sealed. I think it was a mold flaw or maybe a seem where the tape went inside. Thanks. Meg

The images are of Mt. Vernon and George Washington's Tomb. The captions on these images reads, The Tomb of Washington Mount Vernon, VA" and"Washington's Mansion Mount Vernon, VA" The tape measure is cloth and I pulled it out to 33" inches before I felt some resistance and didn't want to force the extension of it too much. Antique Saipan type boat tape measure.made of celluloid or hard plastic. Possibly German made. 1" X.5" X 2.75" in size. Tape measure itself works. The bottom of the boat seems to have a small piece of plastic missing(as shown in enlarged photos. There is slight paint wear due to age. There is also glue residue on the bottom, probably from the original label which is no longer part of the boat. I have had this a very long time, but tape measures are not my field of expertise. Vtg Antique Celluloid Blue Puppy Dog w/hat Rare Tape Measure Japan
This sweet little blue and pink celluloid tape measure stands 2 5/8" tall. It's a little blue puppy wearing a hat and a red bow tie standing on a pink pedestal while waving his paw. The tape is housed inside the pink pedestal. It's marked Japan and I only pulled it out a couple of inches. It retracted fine. But I didn't want to overdo it! Nice condition with no dents or cracks.
