Vintage Celluloid Sewing Tape Measures, Advertising
This is a pair of celluloid tape measures. The larger one has advertising on one side and the face of a woman on the other. The tape pulls out and retracts fine. It has some small surface scratches from use and wear. It measures 1 3/4" diameter. The smaller case has a hand-painted design on one side that shows wear. The celluloid cracked where the tab would sit. Allowing the tab to retract inside the case so this needs to be repaired. It measures 1 3/8" diameter. Powered by

"ZIP FIX" 1950s Vintage/Antique Sewing tool & original advertising box
Supposedly this thing can fix zippers. I don't know how and I don't claim that it works. However the box says it does. There is no date on the box that I can find but there is a patent number of 2579207 if you wanted to look it up. The tool itself is made of metal and the box is cardboard. The box is in fair condition with clear masking tape on one side and no flap on the other. Fantastic advertising! The tool is in good condition with obvious rust. Description: 1 Sewing tape measure. Disc type, advertising Enfalac, a breast milk type formula product by Mead Johnson. 2. Advertising"Infant formula nearly identical to Mother's milk and Nursette disposable bottles. Both tape measures were manufactured in Chicago and are printed in both inches and cms. on cotton tape. Both tapes rewind well. But the Enfalac tape stops at the last 3 inches. Both have button stops to allow the tape to brake when necessary.

The tape was manufactured by the House of Novelties, Cincinnati and patented on 7.10.1917. 2. 1866- 1930 J. F.B. Garrett Co. Syracuse, N.Y. states"Sixty Four years of continuous and conscientious service" and on the reverse"printing, papers, wrappings, twines, stationery" It was manufactured by Parisian Novelty of Chicago using patent granted on 7.10.1917.
