When you need the same measure to use many times. Put this gauge to the ruler. Set the gauge to the right measure, tighten the knob, and now no matter when or where.today or tomorrow.you will have that exact measure to apply as you need, even if you come back next week to finish. You might be sewing. Woodworking, quilting, drafting, metal working, aligning items, or whatever you might need.
