Antique Swedish Eskilstuna Scissors Pair- 7" 5.5" ornate detailed Two pair of vintage steel Swedish produced scissors with intricate detailed decoration on both sides. Inside marked"Sweden" and other blade has the crown over anchor mark of Eskillstuna. One scissors is 6-7/8" and the other is 5-5/8" Scissors are in very good antique condition and sharp. There is some gold wash remaining on their designs. The longer scissor has more wear to the design than the other and has"Vingaker" on each side below the man's figure. Antique Tailor Scissors by R(Rochus) Heinisch. Circa 1900. Blades measure 6.5" and they have a"7" stamped on the base of one blade. The scissors measure 13.5" from tip of blades to tip of handle. No knick/ chips in blades but they could use sharpening. Please take a close look at the photos as they are part of the description. The pair weighs about 2 lbs. They cut thru paper to the tip. But. I can tell they need a sharpening if you are going to be using them for more serious work. Pitting in places. These were painted black some time in their past. No breaks or repairs. This is a great pair of scissors that have been in the family for a very long time. They are Keen Kutter by Simmons Hardware. And made in Germany. Marked"5 1/2 Inch" They have the Keen Kutter logo on one side, and the other has Simmons Hardware Co, Germany, with Hardware spelled out, not abbreviated as HDWE CO INC, indicating an earlier production. These scissors are in very nice condition, still function, and have a great patina. The blades are dark, but not quite as dark as the photos make them look. Sterling Handled 5" Sewing Scissors Birmingham England 1905. This 5 1/4" long sewing scissors features lovely sterling handles made in Birmingham. UK, and blades were made in Sheffield. The handles have scrolling leaf patterns at the top of the handle and larger leaves below. The handles are marked with the British lion silver mark, the Birmingham anchor, the date letter"f" which corresponds to 1905-6, and a maker's mark, A& LL. The scissors is in good condition with no cracks or dents in the handles. And the scissors works well. The Sheffield blades are discolored and the handles may have been reattached. I have always been fond of any items leading up to or during the Civil war. One can only imagine the history of these shears. They are marked Newark NJ so perhaps they were used to make uniforms as our nation geared for war. Who knows. Anyway they are neat, They are a whopping 15" long. The center brass piviot is marked" R. Heinisch Inventor LAtest Patent 1859 Newark NJ" Take a look at the photos. The brass has wear but all characters except the"R&K" in Newark are ledgable. They work fine. T is a stess brake in the large oval on the handle. It is pictured. It is not weak and is still strong and functional. These are heavy solid metal and will ... morelast another 150 years. Antique Rochus Heinisch tailor scissors or shears marked: R. Heinisch- Newark N.J. with the name being curved is a partial circle and the City and State in a straight line below it. There are no words or markings on the brass guides. I believe the brass parts are guides. The scissors measure 12 5/8" in length overall. I don't really know how to measure the cutting edge. But I would say it is approximately 6" in length? As can be expected, these scissors still cut smoothly even though I have never had them sharpened. I bought them used a decade ago. Right Handed Scissors. no way could a lefty use these because the finger holes are sculpted to fit a large right hand very comfortably. The blades are nice and sharp. And the scissors cut beautifully. These are most surely designed to use on leather or heavy fabrics, such as canvas, heavy wools, etc. The condition is excellent except for surface wear; there is paint and finish loss, tarnish, and spots of light rust here and there(i'm fairly certain that the rust would come off with a scouring pad if so desired) I'm not an expert on scissors, but it looks like these blades have never been sharpened, and they are extremely sharp as is… one of the photos has cut paper that I used the scissors on.
