Up for your consideration is an apothecary/ candy/ store display jar. Stand 12" tall with stopper. Graduated sides measure 6" across flat to flat. Stopper has oval shaped hobs. Jar has a small flake chip on the inside edge( about 12 oclock in pic) small flea bites to inner edge. see pic. No major damage. No cracks. Inner edge measures 3 5/8" across. The glass globes are positioned into their original metal cradles and the glass“beehive” is actually two parts; a stopper and a bulb(metal cradle. Globe and stopper) In the early days. Pharmacists would put these in their windows to advertise their shops. The colors are actually colored waters. The globes stand just under 2 FEET and the diameter of the globe is about 10” This pair came from a Pharmacy that opened in East Baltimore about 1910. The Father passed the small shop business to his Pharmacist ... moreson right after the son came home from the war(WWII) It gets better- As part of this deal. There is an old, real, original photograph of the son inside the front of the drug store. He passed on in the 1970’s and the pharmacy was closed and bulldozed to make way for condominiums. I bought these globes from his estate. These will be shipped empty since the colored water is very heavy(and pricey to freight) and the postal folks don’t like to ship liquids. The water you see is just that. A few drops of food coloring in water. I will attempt to clean the globe jars out once the bidding is over here and some lucky person wins these. The condition of these globes is really, really good after all; except for changing the color of the water every now and then– these globes were in the drugstore’s bay windows. There are some extremely minor fleabites on the stoppers and rims otherwise the condition is really good. Each globe unit has three pieces. A metal cradle, a beehive bulb and a stopper. For sale is a vintage apothecary jar with pointed lid. A nice piece to add to a collection. There is a chip to the decorative glass under the rim. It's really hard to see as it blends into the decorative pattern. The jar measures 11" x 4" including lid. Yet another cool show globe from my personal collection. This one is a more contemporary version of a two tier showglobe. As you can see in the pictures. This one is made from cut crystal with matching design on 2 sections and a matching cut glass stopper. It has the words SYRUPI OPII(Syrup of Opium) wheel etched on the side. CONDITION: like new. Has been displayed in my home with colored water inside, but i will empty the contents to ship. This one makes a nice and unique addition to any show globe collection. Pharmacy display case / counter. Late 1800's ?
10 feet long X 26" deep X 34" tall. Adjustable mid shelf the whole length. Glass doors in the back the whole length. Most all glass is original! Red oak with beaded corners and Roman key work. Thw base has a large crown molding. Was removed from a Michigan drug store that was built in the late 1800's. I was told this display case/counter was the original to this building. This display counter is easy to disable and move. Sorry for the poor pictures. I'm working on removing all the stuff out of its way so I should have better pictures soon. In excellent condition and has beautiful hand painted floral design from top to bottom. Has one small chip on inner lip of lid"see picture" may be factory defect? The markings are in the picture of the bottom. The catalogue numbers and Italy. These came out of a old family drug store(c1882 to c1932) in Frederick. Md. and never reopened. I bought them at the auction of the property and contents in 1984. Research could probably be done in some of the old medical supply catalogs from the area. Displays wonderfully! Large display pharmacy apothecary jar with stand. This was given to me by a family member. I've been told it was used for pharmacy displays. They'd put color liquid inside to alert the community of illness or disease in the area. It is extremely rare to find one with a topper(I've been told) this topper is broken but still fits in the jar for a complete look. I've saved the broken piece, it could possibly be repaired? It stands approx 23 inches with topper and 18 inches without topper. It has some film like substance on the inside.

They stand are 31" tall and about 10" wide at the large part of the bottom vase. They are unmarked and have 3 parts each for a total of 6 parts. The vessels are identical both lower and upper portions. The stoppers are mismatched but are from the same vintage and I acquired that way from a local collector who told me he purchased them from an old pharmacy that was going out of business. Condition-wise. These are in excellent shape. There are no cracks, or structural defects. I have not cleaned them so I'm not 100% sure the haze will wash out with some soap and water or not. There is slight etching on where the piece fit together which is consistent wear for these items. Mind you they are ... moreperhaps 100-125 years old. Shipping will be based on volume versus weight and I'm intending send them out as two separate packages completely bubble wrapped and then set into a 2nd box with peanuts for protection.
