Eli Lilly Chlorodyne Amber Glass Bottle Cannabis Narcotic Drug Medical Antique
Eli Lilly Chlorodyne Bottle Measures approximately 3-3/8" tall. The list of ingredients on the label includes Nitroglycerin and Ext. Can. Ind. P.T. Extract of Cannabis Indica P.T. The front and back labels both have quite an evident amount of darkening. Discoloration, fading, loss and related edge wear. The loss and fading is evident enough that some of the text is rather difficult to read. The front label has some old writing on it. There is a partial label on the neck. The cork is stuck in there rather tightly. So I didn't try to remove it. The cork is definitely worn and darkened. It's probably brittle enough that if you did try to remove the cork, it could cause damage, so that is why I felt it was best to leave it as found. The bottle is empty. But even though it is probably impractical because of the cork, the inside of ... morethe bottle does need to be cleaned- you can see some residue in there. The tight area around the cork is also a little dirty. The underside of the bottle has some maker related imperfections to the glass- streaks or straw marks of sort. Presumably because of these imperfections. The bottle does wobble some on the table. The glass has no chips and no cracks. Eli Lilly Neuralgic Bottle The bottle itself(not including the cork) measures approximately 3-5/8" tall. The label ingredients include: quinine. Morphine, strychnine, acid arsenous and aconite. The glass bottle has no chips and no cracks. The neck has a noticeable approximate 3/8" air bubble. And there are obviously other air bubbles here and there throughout. The label has quite a nasty amount of blackish darkening, along with overall discoloration, fading, dullness, loss and edge wear. Because of this darkening, the text is kind of difficult to read. Here at auction is an old brown glass cork bottle by Eli Lilly co. NUX VOMICA. U.S.P. Strychnos Nux Vomica) 3 1/2" x 1 3/4" original"Lilly" cork bottle is in great condition for age. Label is yellowed and has aged spots. It is worn and used but really in great condition for the age. Label wraps around the bottle almost all the way. there is a KEEP TIGHTLY CORKED label around the neck of the bottle. There is about 1" of dried up contents still inside. 5 percent Strychinine Was used as a tonic laxative and diuretic. QUESTIONS PLEASE ASK

Back panels are embossed with"POISON" and some small horizontal ribbing along the edges. Mercuric chloride was used to disinfect wounds by Arab Physicians in the Middle Ages. It continued ... moreto be used by Arab doctors into the twentieth century. Until modern medicine deemed it unsafe for use. Syphilis was frequently treated with mercuric chloride before the advent of antibiotics. It was inhaled, ingested, injected, and applied topically. Poisoning was so common that its symptoms were confused with those of syphilis. Eli Lilly and Company is an American global pharmaceutical company with headquarters located in Indianapolis. This is an Antique Brown Glass Apothecary Bottle with the original paper label. The label reads: One Pint(475 CC. SYRUP No. 74 TRIFOLIUM COMPOUND NON-OFFICIAL CONTAINS ALCOHOL 12 PERCENT" Made by Eli Lilly and Co. Indianapolis, U.S.A. Trifolium Compound was used to treat many ailments. Including Syphillis, at the turn of the century. Don't know the exact age of this bottle. But would say it's from the early 1900's. The bottle is 7 3/4" tall and almost 3" in diameter. It holds 1 pint. The bottle is in excellent condition with no chips or c racks. It has not been cleaned. There is some dirt and stains on the inside. The paper label i s readable with toning. The main bottle(with label Pepsin Eli Lilly) is very old. It had a cork stopper but has disintegrated due to age. On the bottom of this bottle is embossed 3 4-2 and a symbol that looks like the planet Jupiter. The bottle stands 7-7/8" tall& 2-1/2" diameter. Don't know the ounces it holds. It has 2 seams up the sides which indicates two molds. The second bottle is vintage and has no label. It holds 12oz which is embossed on the bottom. It is 6-1/2" tall& almost 3" wide.
