ART DECO APOTHECARY SHOW GLOBE PHARMACY AWESOME This is a fantastic art deco. Antique show globe. These types of globes were often hung in pharmacies and filled with different color liquids. It has a classic art deco styling. The frame that holds the globe is cast aluminum. It has mild oxidation but overall looks fantastic for the age. The globe looks awesome. It has a couple small nicks around the neck. It is an acorn shape and has a glass cork which fills with liquid as well. It has the cast aluminum matching ceiling base to give it the appearance of standard lighting. This is a very cool piece. These are getting harder and harder to find. Massive heavy glass globes sits inside of an art deco metal stand with ground glass stopper. Total height is 24" widest area measures 10" across. These have residue of previous contents that will need washed out. One globe is very nice. No chips or cracks. The second globe has a damaged stopper. Apothecary DRUGSTORE SHOW GLOBE Pineapple UPPER Stacking SECTION and STOPPER !!!
Up for auction is the extreme upper top section and stopper of an early apothecary stacking pineapple show bottle or jar. This section was probably made for a Van Schaack or Whitall Tatum show bottle from the 1880's. I know its a different style than the newer 1920-1930's owens type show bottles. All of these stacking bottles usually held water of various colors and were displayed in early drugstore or apothecary shop windows. This section is in really great overall condition- no cracks. Chips, or cloudy discoloration. The stopper is also in good condition. Some sharpness and roughness on the ground glass end from the grinding process, some light clouding in the hollow air gap. Stopper fits the section perfectly so I think its probably original. Overall extreme length is 12-1/2 inches to the very tip of the stopper or 9-3/8 inches ... morefor the section only. Width at the widest point is about 4 inches. The following 2 measurements were taken with digital calipers so they should be extremely accurate to help you decide if this stopper will fit your needs: Ground glass stopper end is 1.33 inches at the widest point tapering down to 1.14 inches at the narrowest point. This section and the glass stopper are clear glass. A couple tiny bubbles scattered around in the glass. But not very many as this was a very high end piece of glass when it was made, bubbles would have been frowned upon. Glass is very clean on the inside. Does not have the usual water stains or cloudiness that many of these bottles typically show. If you're looking for a section and stopper to replace that broken or missing one from a bottle that you already own- then. This is your lucky day. Many larger photos below. RARE* Hanging Apothecary Show Globe The glass is colored a blue color so there is no need to add colored water. Approximately 13" tall when assembled. Not including the chain which is 16 inches. No cracks or chips in the glass. The top part appears to be made of some type of cast metal(mold lines are visible) CORNELL" and"802" are marked on the inside of the top part. 3 screws hold the globe onto the top part. This is a very hard to find. Rare show globe that came from the soda fountain area of any old pharmacy. Including the scarce to find original hollow fillable glass stopper. No cracks or even tiny chips and the glass is unusually clear for this type of display piece. Usually these type of display sections are found with much water staining and cloudiness present on the inside. Not the case with this one. The bottom fillable section has some very light streaks or spotty places inside around the bottom which look like will probably come clean- no real noticeable water staining or cloudiness. All this goes magically transparent anyway when any of the glass sections are filled with colored water. So no real big deal. The height of bottom fillable section is about 13 inches from extreme tip to tip. About 7 inches in diameter at the widest point. The height of the pedestal base is about 3-3/4 inches. Up for auction is an early 1900's fancy pattern glass Show Globe. Apothecary, or Candy Jar. This type of jar usually sat on the countertop in your typical old time drugstore or soda shop and probably had penny candy in it. Very nice overall condition. Stands 10.5 inches tall. A couple of small nicks or flakes present around the outer rim as was pretty common on these countertop jars from all the years of use. Also a couple rough spots on the ground glass lid- not really all that bad but I like to describe everything so no surprises. Color was originally clear glass but has acquired a nice light lavender shade from years of sunny window exposure at a drugstore. Lid is a bit lighter in color but still looks original to the piece as it fits quite well. Nice even base wear from years of countertop sliding. Very nice condition with 3-4 tiny nips on mount as seen in pics, and a small bruise inside stopper. These jars are hardly ever found with out some sign of usage, so this one is quite attractive. This jar measures 12" high to the top of the cover and it is 6" in diameter at the widest point. The condition of this piece is very good. Early VAN SCHAACK 1886 ENGRAVED Apothecary DRUGSTORE SHOW GLOBE Stacking SECTION Up for auction is the extreme upper top section and stopper of an early apothecary stacking bottle or jar. This particular piece has an engraved or cut glass type of floral or thistle design on alternate panels. The other adjacent panels have what looks like a hanging ball or possibly a hanging cherry. Any of these engraved type of sections are VERY RARE compared to the usual and much more common plain glass sections. All of these stacking bottles usually held water of various colors and were displayed in early drugstore or apothecary shop windows. I believe this section is out of a very rare 5 section stacking bottle. See last photo below. The far left hand bottle which was taken from an identification catalog I have. T he sections I have is the very top plus ... moreits associated stopper. This bottle was made by the Peter Van Schaack& Sons around 1886. This was a massive bottle holding several gallons of water. This section is in really great overall condition- no cracks. Bad chips, or cloudy discoloration, only a couple very tiny fleabites around the outside of the upper lip flare. Stopper does have some chipping around the ground glass area but is pretty well hidden when stopper is in place on the section- no cracks or other damage at all. Stopper may or may not be original to the piece as there is some slight play but still fits very well in size. Form, and style, really looks great on the piece! Overall extreme length is 12-3/4 inches to the very tip of the stopper or 9 inches for the section only. Width at the widest point is about 4 inches. The following 4 measurements were taken with digital calipers so they should be extremely accurate to help you decide if this section will fit your needs: Inside of ground glass mouth opening is 0.80 inches tapering down to 0.62 inches. Outside of ground glass stopper end is 0.95 inches tapering down to 0.75 inches. This section and the glass stopper are clear glass. A couple tiny bubbles

This beautiful. Late19th century, leaded glass apothecary show globe is 14" H X 10 1/2" W. The overall length is 29" from the ceiling, including the ceiling canopy and chain. I see one piece of cracked green glass and, tried to show it. I also see a few areas where the lead has slightly pulled away from the glass. All in all, the condition is very good for it's age, and displays nicely, as you can see. I replaced the old wire so it is ready to hang, with or without electric. For sale is a yellow Apothecary inverted display bottle in excellent condition with no chips. Cracks or blemishes. May be Vaseline glass but do not have a black light to test it. Has a neat area in the glass where the glass has flowed down the bottle about one and a half inches while the glass was cooling during manufacturing. PayPal accepted. Good Luck!

This antique show globe came from an old drug store in Lancaster County PA. It stands 7.5" tall and the neck has a metal cap with 3 or 4 threads as if there was originally a cap or it threaded onto another piece. There is very slight staining on the interior surface from liquid. The color is a deep pink or magenta. The stand is not original or old but will come with the globe.

Came out of an estate of an old pharmacist in NY that passed away. He was the owner of Fortunato's Pharmacy in East Islip, NY that closed in the early 70's.
