Up for auction is a pair of fine large cobalt blue antique label under glass apothecary bottles manufactured by the famous Whitall Tatum Factory in Millville NJ. Between 1880 and 1900. The beautiful gold-rimmed labels read: Tincture of Tobacco Compound(Poison) and Liniment of Chloroform(Poison) Condition: No chips or cracks to bottle, stoppers or glass labels! There is some very minor discoloration to the gold edges of the hand-painted reverse labels, as well as some very minor crazing, separation and discoloration to paint- similar to an old oil painting and not noticeable. I am told that this is made by Eli Lilly. It is numbered in gold on the bottom. I think this was a part of a set. This is the only one I have. And it is very nice, and in perfect condition. Printed on the jar in gold, is Paeonia Albiflora, which is valued for its medicinal qualities, as well as its beauty. This also comes with a certificate, which explains all the qualities of this plant. The number on the bottom of this jar is, 27–953, written in gold pen. This jar is in mint condition, and from a non-smoking, pet free home. This jar is about 6 inches tall without the lid, and about three and a half inches in diameter at the opening. This is a nice early cobalt blue jar with ground pontil and facetted stopper- the early type from the 1800s. Rare in blue. It is hand finished with a tooled lip. A matching stopper, and a permanent label saying Ferr. Lactic. the jar once held Ferrous Lactate(which today would be labelled Iron Lactate) CONDITION is excellent with NO chips. Cracks, bruises, dings. Consisten with age there is wear to the label, especially to the gilding surrounding the permanent label, but no damage. HEIGHT: just over 3.25 inches including stopper. V intage 1920's/1930's or older medicine bottle- cobalt blue glass pharmacy pharmaceutical. Pharmacist medicine herb tonic apothecary drug store retail display bottle jar with cork stopper. It is a large bottle and measures 9" tall with a base diameter of 3 5/8" It is marked on the label area"Bole Armen" meaning astringent earth. The label and lettering show wear as pictured. The bottom of the bottle is marked"599" The bottle jar is in excellent condition with zero damage. You can see bubbles in the glass from the production of the bottle. The cork stopper fits snugly and it is in very good condition. There are contents remaining in the bottle. It displays beautifully and is sold as is. $10.00 postage.

This vintage Apothecary Jar measures 10-1/2" tall with the lid on. And 7-3/4" without the lid. It measures 4-3/4" wide at the top mouth of the jar. The foot and lid are made of cobalt blue glass. And the base is made of clear glass that has a tinge of mint green in certain lighting. This jar has etched leaves on the cobalt blue lid. And an etched pineapple and leaf design on the base. For Your consideration: An stopper for an antique apothecary jar in Cobalt Blue. Great condition with one chip at the very bottom. Also there are a few cracks that extend from the very bottom towards the top. The longest of these is about 1/4 of an inch. These will probably never affect the structural integrity of the lid. Most of the lids will probably have cracks of this nature. For those who are seeking a replacement lid here are some measurements. At the very bottom it measures about 1.75. At the top where the glass is ground it is 1.892. Just above that at the place where the taper begins is 1.95. The largest diameter is 2 and 3/4 and it is 1 and 8/16 tall.
